New Delhi, June 23, 2026: Ambuja Manovikas Kendra (AMK) in Ropar, Punjab, has strengthened its therapeutic support for children with autism through a Sensory Integration Room established under Ambuja Foundation’s inclusive development programme. The facility, set up following a fundraising campaign in 2024, is currently supporting 15 children with autism in improving sensory processing and communication skills.

The Sensory Integration Room has been designed to provide a structured and controlled environment where children can receive sensory input in a regulated manner. In addition to supporting children with autism, the facility also assists children with cerebral palsy and intellectual disabilities in enhancing motor skills, body awareness and sensory processing.

Spread across a 2.5-acre campus, Ambuja Manovikas Kendra offers special education, therapy and home-based rehabilitation services for children with special needs. The newly established sensory room includes specialised equipment such as bubble tubes, optical fibres, lighting effects, auditory stimulation tools, a wall climber, a ball pool, textured tactile panels and learning walls that engage multiple senses, including vision, hearing, touch and balance.

The centre has also incorporated outdoor sensory pathways and therapeutic learning aids to support sensory integration and improve children’s ability to respond to everyday stimuli. Additional tools such as picture cards, structured workbooks, sensory toys, fidget tools, bubble guns, slimes and squeeze toys have been introduced to encourage engagement and strengthen learning outcomes.

According to the foundation, these interventions are aimed at helping children improve self-regulation, participation and communication while creating a more accessible and engaging learning environment.

Mr. Chandrakant Kumbhani, CEO, Ambuja Foundation, said, “Ambuja Foundation is committed to the development of all the segments of society. Through Ambuja Manovikas Kendra, we have been empowering differently abled children for the past 25 years, helping them acquire essential life skills and fostering their journey toward self-reliance. We set up the Sensory Integration Room to empower the children suffering from autism by providing a structured and controlled environment where these kids receive sensory input in a regulated manner and improve their performance.”

The initiative forms part of Ambuja Foundation’s broader efforts to promote inclusive and sustainable community development by improving access to specialised support services for children with developmental and learning challenges.
