1. Who we are
This website, thecsruniverse.com, is run by TCU Infotech Private Limited ("we", "us"). We decide why and how your personal information is used on this website, in our mobile app and at our events, so we are responsible for looking after it.

2. What we collect and why
We only ask for what we need. Here is what we collect in each place, and what we use it for.

If you send a nomination for an award, the jury can see it so they can judge it.
We do not collect Aadhaar, PAN or other government ID numbers through our forms. If a form ever needs one, it will tell you why before you type it.
3. Your choices when you give us information
- Things we need to do what you asked (for example, registering you for an event) are required. We explain them on the form.
- Newsletters and promotional emails are optional. The box is never ticked for you, and you can still register or sign up without it.
- You can say no, or change your mind later, at any time. See "Your rights" below.
4. Who else sees your information
We do not sell your information. We share it only with people who help us run the service, and only what they need:
- Payment: Razorpay handles payments. Your card or UPI details go to Razorpay, not to us.
- Google: for website statistics and advertising (Analytics, Google Ads, AdSense), for sending some of our emails, for meeting invitations (Calendar and Meet), and for digital passes (Wallet).
- Email tools: services that send our newsletters and event emails.
- Hosting and technical help: the companies that run our servers and backups.
- Event team and jury: the people who organise and judge an event, for that event only.
- Authorities: when the law requires us to, or to prevent fraud.
We will not give your contact details to sponsors or partners for their own marketing without asking you first.
Some of these services are run from other countries, so your information may be processed outside India. We choose providers with proper security practices.
5. Cookies
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Statistics and advertising cookies are only switched on if you accept them on our cookie notice. Read the details in our Cookie Policy.
6. How long we keep it
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only your email on a "do not email" list, so we do not email you again by mistake.
- Account: until you ask us to delete it.
- Event details, payments and invoices: for as long as the event needs them, and as long as the law requires us to keep accounts and tax records.
- Records of your choices: we keep a simple record of when you agreed to something, when you took it back, and when you asked us to stop emails or delete your information (the date, the time and what you chose). We keep this as proof that we did what you asked, even after your information is deleted.
- Enquiries: until we have answered you and for a reasonable time after.
When we no longer need information, we delete it or remove your identity from it. Copies in backups are removed when the backup is replaced.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- show you the information we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct or update it;
- delete it (we may need to keep some records, such as invoices, because the law says so, and we will tell you if so);
- stop sending you emails and take back your consent. This is as easy as signing up: use the "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any email;
- name another person to act for you if you cannot;
- look into a complaint.
Stop emails, remove yourself from our lists or delete your account yourself, right now, in our Privacy centre. For anything else, use our privacy request form, or email info@thecsruniverse.com. We will confirm that we received it and reply to you as soon as we can.

8. Children
Our services are for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has given us their details, please tell us and we will delete them.
9. How we keep it safe
- Our website uses an encrypted connection (https).
- Passwords are stored in a scrambled form.
- Only team members who need the information can see it, and the admin area is protected by a login.
- If a data breach affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
No system is perfectly safe, so please also keep your password private.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change affects how we use your information in a way you have not agreed to, we will ask you again.
