The Misfit Collaborative Launches Neuro-Affirming Discovery Platform

New Delhi| September 15, 2026: The Misfit Collaborative has launched a neuro-affirming discovery platform aimed at helping caregivers, educational institutions and businesses find support and resources for neurodivergent children, students and employees.

The platform brings together practitioners, assessments, practical resources, guides and learning content related to neurodivergence. It is designed to help parents and caregivers find therapists, psychiatrists, special educators and other professionals, while supporting educators in developing inclusive classrooms and sensory spaces.

For businesses, the platform provides resources to support the development of more inclusive workplaces, including guidance on neuro-affirming language and practices for supporting neurodivergent employees.

According to The Misfit Collaborative, nearly one in eight Indian children between the ages of two and nine live with a neurodevelopmental condition, which could represent more than 20 million children. It also cites that about 39% of 18–24-year-olds in the Indian workforce self-identify as neurodivergent.

“India's neurodivergent population alone probably would be the fourth or fifth largest country on Earth. Now that’s a big number when we compare this population to those of countries like Australia,” says Ann Thomas, Co-Founder and CEO. She adds, “For decades, India asked one question about neurodivergent children: how do we get them to fit in? That question has produced a generation of exhausted parents, underprepared teachers and brilliant adults who mask all day at work. Every parent, teacher or business leader may want to do the right thing. But wanting to and knowing how are very different. We created The Misfit Collaborative so that the next decade will ask a different one — how do we design for difference? Every school, hospital and company will eventually have to answer it. We're building the place where they start.”

The platform also offers guidance on inclusive-space design, everyday tools, assessments and implementation frameworks. Its resource library includes podcasts, blogs and other learning materials intended to support continued learning beyond individual training sessions or workshops.

The Misfit Collaborative said the platform is intended to address the lack of clear and unbiased direction faced by families, educators and organisations. By bringing different forms of support together, it aims to reduce fragmented searches and provide context-sensitive resources for neurodivergent communities across caregivers, schools, universities and workplaces.
