Bengaluru, July 06, 2026: In a move aimed at improving access to advanced diagnostic care in Odisha, The Art of Living Social Projects and Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Ltd. (HURL) have jointly inaugurated Project SWASTHYA KIRAN at the Sri Sri College of Ayurvedic Science and Research Hospital (SSCASRH), Cuttack.
The project marks the commissioning of a state-of-the-art Revolution™ Aspire Select CT Scanner at the hospital. The new facility is expected to significantly expand SSCASRH's diagnostic capacity across specialties including neurology, cardiology, oncology, trauma care and emergency medicine, benefitting thousands of patients each yea, particularly those in critical situations where early diagnosis can be life-saving.
For families in Cuttack and its neighbouring villages, access to advanced imaging has long remained a challenge. Patients frequently had to travel long distances or wait for extended periods to undergo a CT scan, often resulting in delayed diagnosis and treatment. In emergency cases such as stroke, trauma or cancer, such delays can have serious consequences. The new facility at SSCASRH is expected to bridge this gap by making advanced diagnostic services available closer to home.
Project SWASTHYA KIRAN is the outcome of a partnership between HURL and The Art of Living Social Projects. The initiative was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed at the Art of Living International Center, Bengaluru, in the presence of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. The partnership is guided by Gurudev's vision of compassionate service and holistic well-being, and seeks to combine advanced technology with selfless service to make quality diagnostic healthcare more accessible to underserved communities.
Under the initiative, the hospital aims to reduce travel and waiting time for patients requiring critical imaging, particularly during emergencies such as stroke and trauma. By offering high-quality CT scanning services closer to home, the project also intends to ease the financial burden on rural and underserved families who often struggle with the costs associated with seeking diagnostics in distant cities. Faster and more accurate diagnosis is further expected to support earlier medical intervention and improve overall patient outcomes.
Beyond emergency care, the enhanced imaging capability is likely to strengthen SSCASRH's ability to deliver more effective treatment across a range of clinical specialties. Improved diagnostic precision will help clinicians make informed treatment decisions and reinforce the hospital's role as a key healthcare institution serving Cuttack and the surrounding region.
Project SWASTHYA KIRAN reflects the shared vision of HURL and The Art of Living Social Projects to ensure that quality healthcare reaches those who need it most. The initiative is being described not merely as the commissioning of advanced medical technology, but as an investment in healthier communities, bringing timely diagnosis, quality care and renewed hope closer to home.
