Narayan Seva Sansthan Provides Artificial Limbs to 335 Divyangjans in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, September 8, 2026: Narayan Seva Sansthan, Udaipur, in partnership with CSR partner Ingersoll Rand India Limited, organised an artificial limb fitment camp in Ahmedabad, providing assistive devices to 335 Divyangjans.

The camp, held at Atal Kalam Campus Lane, Gujarat University, Navrangpura, provided 291 Narayan Modular Artificial Limbs free of cost to 271 beneficiaries, while 87 calipers and other assistive devices were provided to 64 beneficiaries.

Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat, who attended the programme as chief guest, said, “the service initiatives of Narayan Seva Sansthan are extraordinary and inspiring for humanity.” He described the event as an example of the convergence of technology and compassion and said providing artificial limbs and calipers to 335 Divyangjans marked the beginning of a journey towards hope, dignity and self-reliance for their families.

The Governor also appreciated the Sansthan for combining Japanese and German technology with its service efforts and said the purpose of modern technology should be to improve human life. He also praised the service vision of Padma Shri Kailash ‘Manav’, founder of the Sansthan, and the leadership of President Prashant Agarwal.

The programme was presided over by Sunil Khanduja, Chairman and Managing Director, Ingersoll Rand India Limited. Bhupendra Singh Chudasama, former Education Minister of Gujarat, attended as the distinguished guest.

In her welcome address, Vandana Agarwal, Director, Narayan Seva Sansthan, said the objective was not merely to provide artificial limbs but also to help Divyangjans regain confidence and become self-reliant. She said the technologically advanced artificial limbs were intended to support mobility, confidence and independence among beneficiaries.

A 40-member specialist team from Narayan Seva Sansthan carried out the fittings and trained beneficiaries in maintaining balance, walking techniques, using artificial limbs and their care.

According to Vandana Agarwal, more than 450 Divyangjans had registered at the selection and measurement camp held in Ahmedabad on July 26. Of these, 335 selected beneficiaries received artificial limbs, calipers and other assistive devices at the latest camp.

Following the fitment, beneficiaries participated in a parade, with family members witnessing them walk independently.

Satyabhushan Jain, Patron of Narayan Seva Sansthan; social worker Madan Lal Gupta; Shailesh Chandra Parmar; Natwar Bhai Gajjar; Satish Bhai Bhaviskar; Vallabh Bhai Dhanani; Pradeep Bhai J. Bachani, along with social workers, volunteers and other citizens, were present.

Narayan Seva Sansthan has been working in social service since 1985. According to the organisation, it has provided free artificial limbs to more than 40,200 Divyangjans and free medical services to over 4.54 lakh Divyangjans in India and abroad.
