Luxembourg, July 01, 2026: Ferrero Group has published its 17th annual Sustainability Report for the 2024/25 financial year, outlining progress across its four sustainability pillars: climate and environment, sourcing, responsible consumption, and people. Released as the company marks its 80th anniversary, the report places the Ferrero Farming Values framework at the centre of its approach to ingredient sourcing and supply chain resilience.
The Ferrero Farming Values framework is built on five elements — supplier due diligence, supply chain traceability and visibility, certification and standards, farming practices and communities, and sector transformation. It covers key ingredients including cocoa, palm oil, hazelnuts, coffee, and dairy, rooted in the company's long-standing sacco conosciuto ("knowing what is in the bag") philosophy.
On sourcing, the report highlights that cocoa reached 98% traceability to farm polygon maps, palm oil 98.6% to plantation, hazelnuts 97% to farmer, and coffee beans 100% traceability to plantation polygon maps. Additionally, 99% of cocoa volumes were sourced through certifications such as Rainforest Alliance, Cocoa Horizons, and Fairtrade; 100% of palm oil volumes were RSPO-certified; and 100% of coffee beans carried Rainforest Alliance Certification under a segregated supply chain model.
On climate, Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions were reduced by 7.2% year-on-year, with 24 plants now operating entirely on renewable electricity from the grid. The company also completed its first Group-wide Water Corporate Footprint assessment and joined the Alliance for Water Stewardship. In packaging, 92.9% was designed for recyclability, reusability, or compostability.
In India specifically, Ferrero achieved a 64% reduction in water intensity at its Baramati plant since the 2019/20 base year, and 95.63% of Ferrero India's packaging is designed to be recyclable, reusable, or compostable. The plant's rooftop solar installation covers 30,000 square metres, meeting 7.98% of the factory's electricity needs and reducing Scope 2 carbon emissions by 1,384 tonnes in 2024/25.
Giovanni Ferrero, President, Ferrero Group, said: "Ferrero's long-term success remains closely linked to the wellbeing of the people and ecosystems on which our supply chain depends. Consumers are increasingly looking for brands they can trust — built on quality, good sourcing practices, careful manufacturing, and a genuine commitment to people and the planet."
Lapo Civiletti, Chief Executive Officer, Ferrero Group, said: "Ferrero Farming Values translates our sustainability approach into concrete actions across the sourcing of our key ingredients. It provides a structured framework to strengthen supplier accountability, improve traceability and certification, support farmers, and drive collaboration across the sector — while allowing us to adapt to the specific realities of each ingredient supply chain."
