New Delhi, July 02, 2026: Amway India has announced the launch of Phase II of its School Nutrition Education Programme under its flagship initiative, Power of 5 (Po5), in New Delhi. Building on Phase I, which reached over 40,000 individuals including 10,000 children directly, the expanded programme will cover 10 government and government-aided schools in South Delhi during FY 2026–27, targeting approximately 15,000 beneficiaries including around 2,500 students from Grades 1 to 8, alongside teachers, parents, and the wider school community.
Implemented in partnership with ChildFund India, the programme was formally inaugurated at Shaheed Hemu Kalani Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya, Lajpat Nagar, in the presence of Ms. Manisha Taneja, State Nodal Officer, Education & Literacy, Government of NCT of Delhi, among other dignitaries.
Phase II is structured around four pillars: nutrition education for children, teacher capacity building, technology-enabled learning, and parent and community engagement. Interactive classroom modules, a Nutrition Ambassador peer-learning programme, digital learning tools, and smart health monitoring kiosks form the core of the delivery model. Teachers, designated as Nutrition Champions, are expected to integrate nutrition concepts into everyday school life through storytelling, games, and role-plays.
Phase I delivered measurable outcomes, including an 11% rise in children with normal BMI in Delhi, a close to 5% reduction in underweight and overweight prevalence, and a 31% increase in children using soap for handwashing in Delhi. Between 80–100% of students expressed a desire for the programme to continue.
Mr. Rajneesh Chopra, Managing Director, Amway India, said, "Our Power of 5 School Nutrition Education Programme goes beyond creating awareness, it is about empowering children with the knowledge and confidence to make healthier choices every day. Phase I demonstrated exactly that. Building on this momentum, Phase II strengthens our commitment by embedding nutrition literacy and technology-enabled learning into school ecosystems, while extending its impact beyond classrooms to families and communities."
Mr. Praveen Khandelwal, Lok Sabha MP, Chandni Chowk, Delhi, said, "I commend Amway India for advancing this shared vision through its Power of 5 School Nutrition Education Programme, which is strengthening nutrition awareness and wellbeing among schoolchildren. This initiative shows how corporate social responsibility can complement national priorities, creating meaningful impact for a healthier, more resilient future for the next generation."
Mr. Anand Vishwakarma, Executive Director, ChildFund India, said, "ChildFund India is proud to partner with Amway India in this important initiative. Nutrition education during school years is foundational to lifelong health outcomes. Through this program, we will work closely with children, teachers, and communities to nurture habits that last a lifetime."
The initiative contributes to UN SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), and complements national programmes including Poshan Abhiyaan and the School Health & Wellness Programme under Ayushman Bharat.
