New Delhi, May 22, 2026: Wheeling Happiness Foundation has announced the ongoing implementation of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) partnership with Asset Care & Reconstruction Enterprise to strengthen India’s para-shooting ecosystem through its flagship initiative, “Shaping Future Paralympic Shooting Champions.”
The partnership, which was formalised earlier, is currently supporting programmes aimed at identifying, training and nurturing para-shooting talent across India. The initiative seeks to create an inclusive and structured ecosystem for para-athletes by improving access to training, equipment and technical expertise.
The foundation acknowledged the support of Mohd Shariq Malik and the CSR Committee from ACRE for supporting the initiative. It also recognised the contribution of Kriti Makhija and Rotary Club of Delhi South in facilitating collaboration for the programme.
Deepa Malik said, “The signing of this partnership with ACRE some months ago was a monumental step forward, and we are thrilled with the progress we’re already making in our mission to empower individuals with disabilities through sports. It embodies our motto, ‘Ability Beyond Disability,’ allowing us to identify, nurture, and elevate para-shooting talent from the grassroots. With ACRE’s unwavering support, we are not just building champions; we are building a more inclusive India, strengthening our Paralympic legacy, and fostering national pride on the global stage. This collaboration is proving to be a game-changer for countless aspiring para-shooters.”
Mohd Shariq Malik said, “At ACRE, we are deeply committed to social responsibility and empowering communities. The ‘Shaping Future Paralympic Shooting Champions’ program resonated perfectly with our values from the outset, and we are delighted to see the tangible progress since we formalized our partnership some months ago. We are incredibly proud to collaborate with the Wheeling Happiness Foundation and the Para Shooting Association of India to support these inspiring athletes. We believe in their potential to bring glory to our nation and are dedicated to providing them with the resources they need to succeed.”
The programme is being implemented with technical support from Para Shooting Association of India under the leadership of Dronacharya Awardee JP Nautiyal.
As part of the initiative, the organisations plan to scout and train more than 300 para-shooters across the country. The programme will also provide adaptive wheelchairs, specialised shooting tables and accessible training infrastructure to athletes.
In addition, the initiative aims to certify 30 national coaches and 15 classifiers and referees under World Shooting Para Sports standards. A minimum of 30 percent participation from women athletes has also been targeted as part of the programme’s gender inclusion efforts.
The organisations said the initiative is expected to strengthen opportunities for para-athletes while contributing to a more inclusive sporting ecosystem in India.
