Chola Foundation, Smile Foundation Support 1,250 Assam Flood-Affected Families

Assam, August 25, 2026: The Chola Foundation, in collaboration with Smile Foundation, has undertaken a flood relief intervention across 10 flood-affected regions in Assam, supporting more than 1,250 families with essential supplies and hygiene assistance.

The initiative focused on addressing immediate needs of affected communities through the distribution of dry rations, hygiene kits and other essential supplies, with particular attention to women, children, elderly people and people with disabilities. The relief effort was coordinated with local authorities and community leaders to help reach communities affected by the floods.

Chola employees from Assam also participated in the on-ground relief activities, supporting the distribution of supplies while following safety protocols and guidelines issued by district authorities.

Mr. Ravindra Kumar Kundu, MD & CEO, Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company, said, “Assam has been severely affected by floods, disrupting the lives and livelihoods of thousands of families. At Chola, we remain committed to standing by communities in times of need. The flood relief intervention in Assam, in partnership with Smile Foundation, is an effort to provide timely and essential support to families affected by the floods and helping them navigate this difficult period. Through the intervention, Chola Foundation said it aims to provide timely support to vulnerable communities during the crisis and strengthen its disaster-response efforts through community engagement and employee volunteering.
