New Delhi, July 23, 2026: Nand Ghar, Vedanta's flagship social impact initiative under the Anil Agarwal Foundation, has expanded its network to 15,000 centres across 18 states and 76 districts, strengthening access to nutrition, early childhood education, healthcare and women's empowerment services in rural India.
According to the organisation, the programme now reaches over 5 lakh children and 4 lakh women. The latest milestone comes eight months after Nand Ghar crossed the 10,000-centre mark in November 2025, with an additional 5,000 centres established during this period. The initiative has also expanded into Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Bihar, further strengthening the Anganwadi ecosystem through a public-private partnership model.
Each Nand Ghar functions as a technology-enabled Anganwadi offering integrated services, including early childhood education, nutrition, primary healthcare, clean drinking water, sanitation and women's skill development. The programme aligns with the Government of India's Saksham Anganwadi and POSHAN 2.0 initiatives aimed at improving child development and nutrition outcomes.

Speaking on the milestone, Shashi Arora, CEO, Nand Ghar, said: "The development potential of India rests on its children. Guided by our Chairman Mr. Anil Agarwal's vision of transforming India's Anganwadis into modern centres of excellence for nutrition, education and women empowerment, we are proud to have reached the milestone of 15,000 Nand Ghar centres across 18 states. Every new Nand Ghar is an investment in India's future, ensuring that children receive quality nutrition, early learning and healthcare, while women gain opportunities to become financially independent. This milestone strengthens our resolve to work alongside governments, communities and partners to build a healthier, more empowered India."
The programme highlights community-led implementation through Anganwadi workers. Vedanta cited the example of Anju Dubey, an Anganwadi worker in Khojwa, Uttar Pradesh, whose efforts have helped improve early learning and community participation at her Nand Ghar centre.
According to Vedanta, the initiative will continue expanding its network to improve access to quality childcare, healthcare, nutrition and livelihood opportunities for women and children across rural India.
