New Delhi: In a significant move for India’s sustainability consulting landscape,Manpreet  Singh has joined Grant Thornton Bharat as Partner to lead and scale its ESG Services practice. The appointment comes at a time when businesses across sectors are accelerating their transition towards sustainable and responsible growth.

With nearly two decades of global experience across leading consulting firms, Singh brings deep expertise in ESG strategy, decarbonisation, sustainable finance, and climate advisory. His move to Grant Thornton Bharat reflects the firm’s ambition to strengthen its ESG capabilities and position itself as a leader in the rapidly evolving sustainability consulting space.

Extensive Global Experience in ESG and Climate Strategy

Prior to joining Grant Thornton Bharat, Singh held leadership roles across multiple global organisations. Most recently, he served as Partner – Sustainability Strategy & Transformation at PwC India (2023–2026), where he worked on embedding ESG into core business models and driving long-term value creation.

Earlier, at KPMG, he held several key positions, including Partner – ESG & Climate Strategy (India) for over a decade and US National Leader – Decarbonisation at KPMG US, where he led initiatives on green financing, alternative energy solutions, and emissions reduction strategies. He also served as Global Lead for Green and Social Bonds, contributing to the development of sustainable finance frameworks.

His early career includes roles at Ernst & Young, Senergy Global, and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), building a strong foundation in climate change, sustainability services, and research.

Strong Academic Background in Climate and Sustainability

Singh’s professional journey is supported by a robust academic foundation. He holds an M.Sc in Environmental Studies (Climate Change specialisation) from TERI School of Advanced Studies and a B.Sc (Hons) in Life Sciences from the University of Delhi. He further enhanced his leadership skills through the Emerging Leaders Program at the Indian School of Business (2016) and completed a certification in Community-Based Adaptation to Climate Change.

This combination of technical expertise and strategic leadership has enabled him to drive impactful ESG transformations across industries and geographies.
