Mumbai: Allcargo Foundation, the social impact arm of Allcargo Logistics, has appointed Dr. Pratyush Panda as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO). In his new role, he will lead the Foundation’s philanthropy, sustainability, and community development initiatives, focusing on creating measurable and long-term social impact across education, healthcare, livelihoods, environmental sustainability, and community empowerment.
The appointment comes at a time when Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles, and stakeholder-driven development are becoming increasingly central to business strategy. With nearly three decades of experience spanning sustainability, philanthropy, CSR governance, and development sector leadership, Dr. Panda is expected to further strengthen the Foundation’s impact framework and expand its collaborative approach to inclusive development.
Nearly Three Decades of Leadership Across CSR, ESG and Development
Dr. Panda is widely regarded as one of India’s most experienced sustainability and social impact professionals. Prior to joining Allcargo Foundation, he served as CEO of Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) India, where he also held additional charge as Managing Director of the Collaborative Philanthropic Foundation. During his tenure, he worked extensively to build partnerships among corporates, non-profits, government agencies, and development experts to accelerate social transformation.
Earlier, as Global Head – ESG at LTIMindtree, he led sustainability and CSR initiatives across India and international markets including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Scandinavia. Before that, he spent more than eleven years with ACC Limited as Vice President – CSR & Sustainability, where he developed long-term sustainability roadmaps, advanced circular economy initiatives, strengthened impact measurement systems, and aligned programmes with global frameworks such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), GRI, and UN Global Compact.
His professional journey also includes leadership roles at Vedanta Resources Plc and CARE, where he gained extensive experience in community development, stakeholder engagement, rehabilitation programmes, and government partnerships.
Strong Academic Credentials Complement Practical Expertise
Dr. Panda’s professional accomplishments are supported by an impressive academic background. He holds an MBA in Rural Management from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) and a Master’s degree in Sociology from Sri Venkateswara University. He earned a PhD in Public Policy & Administration from John F. Kennedy University and is currently pursuing a D.Litt. focusing on the economics of green transition, carbon pricing, and sustainable fiscal policies.
Additionally, he holds a Certified Corporate Directorship qualification from the World Council for Corporate Governance, London, with a specialization in Corporate Governance and Sustainable Development.
