New Delhi, April 07, 2026: Nasscom Foundation has announced the appointment of U.B. Pravin Rao as its new Chairperson, succeeding Rostow Ravanan, who has completed his tenure.
Ravanan’s tenure marked a phase of strategic growth for the Foundation, with a strengthened focus on governance and expansion across key areas such as digital inclusion, employability, women entrepreneurship, social innovation, and the NGO ecosystem. His leadership contributed to advancing the Foundation’s mission of driving inclusive growth through technology.
Taking forward this mandate, Pravin Rao brings over 35 years of experience in the technology sector, including leadership roles in global operations and large-scale transformation. His prior association with Nasscom, including serving as Vice Chairperson and Chairman, is expected to bring continuity and strategic depth to the Foundation’s next phase.
U.B. Pravin Rao said, “While technology is often viewed through the lens of growth, its true potential lies in expanding access and opportunity. That is what makes Nasscom Foundation’s mission particularly important. I am honored to take on this role as we celebrate 25 years of the Foundation’s journey. I look forward to working with the team and other stakeholders to build on this strong legacy and drive the next wave of technology led innovation and impact”.
Reflecting on his tenure, Rostow Ravanan said, “It has been a profound honor to serve as Chairperson of Nasscom Foundation. As I retire from this role I do so with deep satisfaction in having helped strengthen the Foundation’s leadership and building a capable, resilient, valuesdriven team for the future. The Foundation is now led by a new generation of leaders who bring fresh energy, insight, and commitment to its mission. I am confident that the Foundation will continue to transform the landscape of social impact in India by making digital literacy and future ready skill building accessible to all. I am grateful for all the goodwill and support from my colleagues on the board and look forward to continuing to support the Foundation’s mission in new ways.”
Jyoti Sharma, CEO, Nasscom Foundation, added, “We extend our deepest gratitude to Rostow Ravanan for his exceptional leadership and steadfast commitment to Nasscom Foundation’s mission. Rostow has been a guiding force, leading the organisation with a rare combination of clarity, humility and purpose, shaping both our strategic direction and the values that define our work. On a personal note, as a mentor, his counsel and quiet stewardship have left a lasting imprint on all of us who have had the privilege of learning from him. As we welcome Pravin, we do so on a strong foundation built under Rostow’s leadership, with a renewed commitment to advancing our TechForGood mission at scale.”
Nasscom Foundation continues to work at the intersection of technology and social impact, focusing on digital inclusion, employability, women entrepreneurship, and strengthening the NGO ecosystem. The leadership transition comes as the Foundation marks 25 years of its journey and looks to scale its TechForGood initiatives further.
