Bengaluru, June 15, 2026: LinkedIn India has extended its partnership with non-profit organisation Mentor Together through a grant of approximately ₹1.5 crore ($160,000) to support 25,000 students across Karnataka with mentorship-led employability and AI-readiness programmes.
The initiative builds on a seven-year collaboration between LinkedIn and Mentor Together, as well as their ongoing partnership with the Government of Karnataka’s Department of Collegiate and Technical Education. The programme aims to help students navigate evolving career pathways and prepare for a workforce increasingly influenced by artificial intelligence.
Over the past year, the partnership reached more than 23,000 students across nine districts in Karnataka. It also facilitated over 8,000 hours of mentoring conversations and supported 573 students through one-on-one mentoring sessions on the Mentor To Go app. According to the programme, 86% of participating students completed the mentoring journey with greater confidence in their career direction.
The next phase of the initiative will focus on equipping students with career guidance and AI literacy through a structured three-level framework.
Under Level 1 – Career & AI Awareness, the programme will engage 25,000 students through group mentoring sessions that introduce career planning and AI literacy concepts. Level 2 – Foundational Career Mentoring will provide 8,000 students with short-cycle mentoring conversations via the Mentor To Go platform, focusing on career exploration and the responsible use of AI for learning and planning. Level 3 – Placement-Focused Mentoring will support 700 final-year students through intensive mentoring that combines mentor guidance, staff support, and AI-enabled job search tools.
The programme is designed to support students at different stages of their career journey, from those beginning to explore future opportunities to those preparing to enter the workforce.
According to the organisers, the initiative seeks to combine human mentorship with AI-enabled resources to help young people develop the skills, confidence, and career awareness needed in a rapidly changing employment landscape.
The expanded partnership reflects a growing focus on mentoring as a tool for employability and career readiness, particularly as technological advancements continue to reshape job roles and workplace expectations.
