Bengaluru, May 11, 2026: ImpactAI Foundry, a Bengaluru-based initiative, has launched a new programme aimed at enabling nonprofit organisations in India to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into their operations. Applications are now open for its June 2026 pilot cohort.
The programme is designed as a two-month, hands-on engagement offering structured workshops, dedicated technology mentorship, and practical support to help organisations develop AI tools tailored to their operational needs.
According to the organisation, while interest in AI has grown across the social sector, many nonprofits face challenges in adoption due to limited access to guidance and the lack of practical, implementation-focused training. The initiative aims to address this gap by focusing on use-case-driven solutions rather than theoretical learning.
Each participating organisation will be paired with a volunteer technology mentor from Bengaluru’s tech ecosystem. Mentors will support nonprofits in identifying areas where AI can improve efficiency and in building solutions aligned with their existing workflows.
The pilot cohort will include six to eight Bengaluru-based organisations working across sectors such as education, healthcare, livelihoods, and women’s empowerment. The model is expected to expand to other cities following the pilot phase.
ImpactAI Foundry is led by Arjun Balaji and Jyothika Raju, who are currently pursuing their Master’s in Public Administration at Columbia University.
Mr. Arjun Balaji and Jyothika Raju, Co-Founders, ImpactAI Foundry, said, “We grew up in Bangalore and have seen firsthand how much the social sector here does with very little. AI shouldn't be something that only well-resourced organisations can access. We're here to make sure that the nonprofits doing the most important work are not the ones left behind.”
The programme is open to nonprofits and technology professionals interested in mentoring, with applications available through the organisation’s website.
ImpactAI Foundry is part of the Decoded Futures initiative under the Tech:NYC Foundation, which focuses on connecting the social sector with tools and networks to adopt emerging technologies.
