Noida, June 06, 2026: HCLTech has announced the winners of the third edition of its Climate Action Grant in the Americas, awarding a total of $1 million to three nonprofit organizations working on climate resilience, water security and biodiversity conservation projects across the region.
Guatemala-based CISP - Comitato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo dei Popoli was named the winner and will receive $500,000. Argentina-based Aves Argentinas and Mexico-based Isla Urbana – Lluvia para Todos A.C. were selected as runners-up and will receive $250,000 each.
The funding will support projects focused on addressing climate-related challenges in vulnerable communities. CISP plans to improve water security and sustainable land management in Guatemala’s dry corridor, with a goal of providing access to clean water for 200 families through rainwater harvesting. Aves Argentinas will work on ecological restoration and biodiversity conservation in the Atlantic Forest region of the Iguazú river basin, aiming to restore more than 790 hectares of land. Lluvia para Todos will expand community-based rainwater harvesting systems in water-stressed regions of Mexico, benefiting around 2,300 people and generating an estimated 4.2 million litres of harvested water.
The 2026 edition of the grant attracted applications from nonprofit organizations across 10 countries in the Americas, including Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Peru and the United States. According to HCLTech, participation has increased by 41% since the programme was launched in 2023.
Dr. Nidhi Pundhir, Senior Vice President, Global CSR, HCLTech, said, “We are inspired by the ingenuity and commitment demonstrated by this year’s recipients, who are driving meaningful climate action in the communities that need it most. As the program enters its third year, we are seeing tangible progress in advancing sustainable, community-led solutions, reinforcing our commitment to enabling long-term climate resilience across the region.”
HCLTech said the programme builds on the work of six previously supported nonprofit organizations. Projects funded through earlier editions have contributed to the planting of more than 360,000 native trees and mangroves and supported climate leadership initiatives involving over 1,400 young people, students and educators. The initiatives have also focused on biodiversity conservation, marine ecosystem restoration and AI-enabled environmental monitoring.
The HCLTech Climate Action Grant in the Americas is part of the company’s broader sustainability and CSR strategy. HCLTech has committed $5 million over five years to the initiative, supporting scalable and community-led climate solutions across the region.
