Ahmedabad, June 15, 2026: GHCL Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of GHCL Limited, has announced that its flagship Learning Enrichment Program (LEP) has reached more than 30,406 students across the Amreli and Bhavnagar districts of Gujarat since its launch in 2017.

The programme focuses on strengthening foundational literacy, numeracy, and learning outcomes among rural students through activity-based and participatory teaching methods. Designed to address early learning gaps, the initiative covers subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.

A key component of the programme is “Mojilu Shikshan” (Joyful Learning), which incorporates storytelling, educational games, hands-on activities, and interactive classroom sessions to encourage student participation and engagement. The programme is complemented by the “Rupantar” initiative, which aims to promote active learning and inquiry-based thinking among students.

According to the Foundation, internal assessments indicate improvements in reading, writing, and arithmetic skills among participating students. Schools associated with the programme have also reported increased attendance, improved retention rates, and higher levels of academic confidence among students.

Speaking about the impact of the initiative, Jagrutiben Giri, Principal of Branch Primary School in Jafrabad, said, "The specialized focus on foundational learning has helped slower learners improve significantly, while co-curricular activities have transformed once-shy children into confident participants."

Samatbhai Gohil, Principal of Chanchbandar Main Primary School, added, "The program has successfully revived classrooms through art, sports, and creative learning, ensuring children strengthen their basic reading and mathematical skills without feeling pressured."

Sharing similar observations, Principal Rianalben Makwana of Victor Primary School said, "We have seen a remarkable transformation in student learning levels and overall school engagement thanks to this holistic educational approach."

Students have also reported positive experiences. Lakhu Wagh, a Grade 8 student from Kathivadar Primary School, said, "The activity-based learning and encouraging teachers helped improve my personal confidence in reading and mathematics, making school truly enjoyable and exciting."

The programme has been implemented across rural schools in the coastal regions of Gujarat, where educational challenges such as learning gaps and student dropouts remain concerns. School administrators from institutions in Victor, Chanchbandar, Khadsaliya, Vadhera, and Kadiyali have acknowledged the role of the initiative in strengthening foundational learning and improving student engagement.

Through the Learning Enrichment Program, GHCL Foundation continues to support rural education by promoting inclusive learning environments and strengthening foundational skills among students in underserved communities.
