Bengaluru, June 15, 2026: Delhivery has launched “Vishram,” a nationwide network of more than 1,000 dedicated rest facilities for delivery associates, marking its 15 years of operations in India. The initiative is aimed at supporting the well-being of delivery personnel across logistics, e-commerce, quick commerce, food delivery, and courier services.
Derived from the Hindi and Sanskrit word for “rest” or “respite,” Vishram centers are designed as open-access facilities and are available to delivery workers regardless of the platform or company they work for.
The network is operational across nearly 600 cities and towns, including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Coimbatore, Ludhiana, Cuttack, Thiruvananthapuram, and Jamshedpur, among others.
According to Delhivery, the centers provide delivery personnel with access to seating and rest areas, clean drinking water, washrooms, cooling facilities such as fans and air coolers, mobile charging ports, and first-aid kits. The facilities are intended to offer safe spaces for short breaks during demanding shifts and protection during extreme weather conditions.
Prashant Gazipur, Chief Operating Officer, Operations at Delhivery, said, "As the backbone of India’s digital commerce, delivery associates routinely navigate highly demanding conditions, from extreme weather to a deficit of essential roadside infrastructure. Through the 'Vishram' initiative, we are actively addressing this structural gap. We chose the name Vishram because it represents more than just a physical shelter—it represents a hard-earned pause, comfort, and dignity for India’s mobile workforce.”
To facilitate easy access, Delhivery has introduced a digital check-in and check-out process. Delivery workers can enter and exit the facilities by scanning a QR code and verifying their phone number, enabling a paperless and streamlined experience while helping maintain safety and hygiene standards.
Gazipur added, “By opening our network of over 1,000 Vishram Centers to all delivery partners, regardless of platform, we aim to establish a higher standard for gig worker welfare. We believe industry-wide collaboration is critical to protect this vital workforce, and we invite fellow sector leaders to join us in fostering a safer, more sustainable ecosystem.”
The launch comes as India’s gig economy continues to expand, increasing the need for infrastructure and welfare measures that support delivery workers who play a key role in the country’s digital commerce ecosystem.
