ChangeInkk & CoRover Collaborate To Launch AI for Learning Disabilities

New Delhi, Oct 10, 2024: CoRover and ChangeInkk have collaborated to launch India’s first multilingual AI-driven help desk for learning disabilities.

Built based on the learnings of sensitizing, building capacities and understanding the needs of over a lakh of government school teachers, thousands of employers, higher education institutions, parents and policy makers at the state and central levels, the innovative AI-driven chatbot, AskPurpleFlame, is designed to raise awareness, provide critical resources, and build capacities for stakeholders to effectively address the issue of dyslexic people.

AskPurpleFlame, available 24/7, is guided by the world’s first dyslexic female superhero, Purple Flame. Designed for students, parents, educators, and policymakers, it aims to bridge communication gaps, drive informed decision-making and promote inclusiveness across our country. It is available in multiple languages, beginning with English and Hindi, and enables users to interact using text and voice.

The app would be launched soon. Further, additional Indian languages will also be rolled out, ensuring that diverse communities across the country can benefit.

Despite recognition under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016, learning disabilities in India remain largely unseen and stigmatized. With an estimated 200 million people affected, including 35 million students, conditions like dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia lead to poor learning outcomes, high dropout rates, and increased mental health issues, including a 46% higher risk of suicide attempts. A major contributing factor is the lack of resources and stakeholder capacities. AskPurpleFlame aims to bridge this gap by providing essential information and empowering stakeholders — from students and parents to teachers to employers, civil society to policymakers.

"AskPurpleFlame is not just a chatbot — it’s a beacon of hope for millions of families who have struggled with stigma, lack of awareness, and inadequate resources for addressing learning disabilities. Our mission is to make information and support systems universally accessible and ensure that individuals with learning disabilities have the tools they need to thrive," said Noopur, Co-Founder & Trustee of ChangeInkk.

The partnership between ChangeInkk and CoRover marks a significant milestone in creating accessible AI tools for marginalized and underserved communities.

CoRover is harnessing its Sovereign AI-BharatGPT powers AskPurpleFlame, delivering real-time, accurate information that can be accessed easily from any device. The chatbot not only answers questions but also empowers parents, educators, students, and policymakers, providing support at every stage — whether a user is seeking initial information, navigating a diagnosis, or managing day-to-day challenges related to SLDs. It also offers educators critical resources for identifying and assisting students, helps parents advocate for their children’s needs, and provides policymakers with guidance for developing inclusive education strategies. The platform actively fosters capacity-building by providing access to essential tools, training materials, and resources.

“Leveraging CoRover's AI expertise alongside ChangeInkk's extensive experience of mainstreaming learning disabilities, we are developing a platform that empowers stakeholders to effectively navigate the complexities of managing these challenges," said Ankush Sabharwal, Founder & CEO CoRover.AI.

"Our mission is to deliver practical solutions at both individual and systemic levels using a domain-specific LLM model, all aimed at fostering a more inclusive society while generating value for diverse industries to meet their unique needs, AskPurpleFlame is just the beginning,” he said.

According to experts, the global purchasing power of people with disabilities and their families is estimated at $13 trillion, with over 2.5 billion individuals requiring assistive technologies.
