As the festive season unfolds, ITC Hotels has reimagined Christmas through a lens of purpose, creativity and responsibility. Across its iconic properties- ITC Maurya, ITC Mughal, ITC Rajputana and ITC Grand Bharat- the tradition of celebrating a Green Christmas comes alive through thoughtfully crafted installations that honour local heritage while embracing sustainability. Each Christmas tree becomes more than a decorative centrepiece; it is a narrative woven from indigenous crafts, natural materials and the skill of local artisans.
Rooted in craftsmanship, cultural pride and environmental consciousness, the celebrations demonstrate how festive joy can coexist with mindful living- where tradition, innovation and respect for nature shape the true spirit of the season:
At ITC Mughal, the festive celebrations began with a tribute that honoured Agra’s rich artistic heritage while capturing the magic of Christmas. The Grand Lobby was transformed into a striking installation centred around a magnificent 17-foot Christmas tree inspired by the city’s iconic Zardozi craft. Known for its intricate gold threads, beads and Mughal-era detailing, Zardozi reflects the artistic soul of Agra. Each ornament on the tree celebrated the skill and dedication of local artisans. Thoughtfully created as a sustainable installation, the tree aligned seamlessly with ITC Hotels’ ethos of Responsible Luxury, blending creativity with environmentally conscious practices such as renewable energy use, reduced plastic consumption and biodiverse green spaces.
In Jaipur, ITC Rajputana unveiled a visually arresting 15-foot pagri-inspired Christmas tree anchored in the regal spirit of Rajasthan. Paying tribute to the region’s craft communities, the installation drew inspiration from the safa—a timeless symbol of pride, honour and cultural identity. Crafted from iron and plywood and adorned with more than 130 handcrafted pagris in Bandhej, Pachranga, Leheriya and other traditional fabrics, the centrepiece reflected centuries-old traditions. Installed in the Jaigarh Lobby, the tree honoured Rajasthan’s artistic heritage while reinforcing ITC Rajputana’s commitment to Responsible Luxury.
At ITC Maurya, Christmas was celebrated through Eco Elora, a thoughtful installation at the Chaitya Lobby that highlighted nature, craft and conscious living. Rising 16 feet high, the tree was crafted entirely from natural, repurposed and biodegradable materials, including pine tree flowers, shola flowers, corn husk, palm leaves, jute stems, dried fruits and coconut coir rope. Created over 170 man-hours, Eco Elora symbolised renewal, balance and mindful creation, reflecting the philosophy that sustainability and celebration can coexist.
Completing the festive journey, ITC Grand Bharat presented Sustain-a-Tree—a minimalist yet meaningful expression of Christmas. Crafted from wood, cane and jute, the installation embodied rustic charm and eco-forward design, reinforcing the belief that beauty thrives in simplicity and festive joy grows from mindful choices.
