Winners announced for TheCSRUniverse Social Impact Awards 2023! IIT Madras, Noida Power Company, TransUnion CIBIL, ICICI Foundation, Smile Foundation, Suman Nirmal Minda Foundation, Desai Foundation among 21 winners

New Delhi, September 15, 2023:  IIT Madras, Noida Power Company, TransUnion CIBIL, ICICI Foundation, Smile Foundation, Suman Nirmal Minda Foundation, ONGC Foundation, Desai Foundation, Sportz Village Foundation are among 21 winners of the much awaited TheCSRUniverse Social Impact Awards 2023.

The Awards across the different categories were announced on the 2nd day of TheCSRUniverse Social Impact Conference, which was held on September 14-15, 2023. During the two-day virtual conference, industry leaders, top academicians and NGO thought leaders discussed different aspects of social sector problems and ways to tackle challenges in implementing projects and initiatives while collaborating with multiple stakeholders and the way forward towards making the social sector initiatives more inclusive and impact driven.

Likewise the previous year, this year again a total of 21 social initiatives won the awards for their excellent social initiatives.  During the nomination process, the Education (57), category received the highest number of nominations followed by Health & Sanitation (31) and Sustainable Environment (15). This year, entries in Sustainable Environment increased as compared to the last year.

TheCSRUniverse Social Impact Award 2023 winners in the Education category included Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, Noida Power Company Limited, Smile Foundation, ONGC Foundation, Buddy4Study India Foundation, Tech Mahindra Foundation, Suman Nirmal Minda Foundation (Uno Minda Group),  and TransUnion CIBIL Ltd.

In the Health and Sanitation category, the winners included Coal India Limited, Jivika Healthcare Pvt. Ltd., and Manjari Foundation. In the Sustainable Environment category, the awards were conferred on two individuals - Mr Ramveer Tanwar & Dr Vishal Sharma.

ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth won the award in Biodiversity and Wildlife Conservation category. Further, Yara Fertilizers India Pvt. Ltd. won the award in Skill Devleopment & Livlihood category.

The Ponty Chadha Foundation won the award in supporting differently abled students. Aident Social Welfare Organisation won the award in microfinance category.

Desai Foundation emerged winner in the Women & Child Development category and Sportz Village Foundation won the award for Promotion of Sports.

LiveLoveLaugh Foundation (LLL) & Naz Foundation (India) Trust won the award in Special Themes – ‘Mental Health & Wellbeing’ & ‘Care for Children Affected by HIV/AIDS’ respectively.

Congratulating all the winners on their transformative social initiatives, Ruchika Kumar, Editor, TheCSRUniverse wished all the winners to succeed in their social mission. “We are proud of the wonderful work being done by the social sector stakeholders. This Award has brought due recognition to the strategic approach and innovative ideas of corporates, implementation partners and other stakeholders towards bringing social change,” Kumar said.

She also added that all the social initiatives nominated for the award will be published in the form of case studies & success stories on TheCSRUniverse.

A power packed jury

The grand jury panel of 3rd edition of TheCSRUniverse Social Impact Awards 2023 constituted to select the best projects and initiatives included top academicians from IIMs, IITs, NLUs, IRMA, Central Universities and other top academic institutions in India.

A multi-layered selection process led by the expert jury panel picked the best social projects under different themes. A total of 172 nominations were received for the award out of which 109 nominations were found valid. Further, TheCSRUniverse editorial scrutinised and shortlisted a total of 42 nominations for the jury round. A total of 21 winners were selected basis the evaluation of the esteemed jury panel.

The winners for last year’s edition of the prestigious award ceremony included HCL Foundation, ONGC Foundation, Tech Mahindra Foundation, American India Foundation, Buddy4Study, Manipur Government and Vedanta Group’s Sesa Community Development Foundation among the total of 21 winners.  Last year, the award ceremony was held in virtual mode on September 8-9.

In 2021, a total of 21 social sector organisations & corporates were chosen for the ‘Award of Excellence’ for creating significant impact through their COVID Response initiatives. The winners of TheCSRUniverse Social Impact Awards 2021 included ONGC Foundation, Akshaya Patra, Swades Foundation, Tech Mahindra Foundation, Teach for India, GiveIndia, United Way Delhi, American India Foundation, Temenos India, ACT Grants, IndusInd Bank Limited, Samhita Social Ventures, ICICI Bank Limited among others for conceptualizing and executing projects and initiatives to meet the emerging social needs after the outbreak of COVID.
