SGBS Unnati Foundation, Mphasis Partner for Greener Bengaluru

Bengaluru, September 11, 2026: SGBS Unnati Foundation and Mphasis have joined hands for an environmental sustainability initiative in Bengaluru, in collaboration with Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), to support the maintenance of a designated metro corridor.

Under the initiative, SGBS Unnati Foundation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BMRCL for the maintenance of Pier Nos. BP-382 to BP-437. Mphasis is supporting the initiative as part of its broader CSR engagement with social organisations, government institutions and community stakeholders.

The project is aimed at supporting the upkeep of the designated metro corridor and contributing to the maintenance of public spaces in the city. It brings together BMRCL, SGBS Unnati Foundation and Mphasis in a cross-sector partnership focused on urban environmental priorities.

SGBS Unnati Foundation became the first NGO in India to be listed on the Social Stock Exchanges of both NSE and BSE in December 2023.

The initiative forms part of Mphasis’ wider environmental and community development work, which includes water conservation, lake rejuvenation and afforestation. The company supports the planting and maintenance of 100,000 trees at Doddasagare Botanical Garden in Karnataka and is involved in the revival of Bodanahosahalli Lake.

Mphasis is also supporting the establishment of 1,200 percolation wells across Bengaluru, with the initiative expected to conserve an estimated 153 million litres of rainwater by 2026.
