Tata Power Expands ‘Pay Autention’, Reaches 45,000+ Families for Autism Inclusion

Mumbai, April 08, 2026: Tata Power has expanded its flagship ‘Pay Autention’ initiative, impacting over 45,000 families across India through a combination of digital platforms and on-ground interventions aimed at supporting autism inclusion.

The company marked World Autism Awareness Day with a nationwide rollout of month-long activities in collaboration with the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (NIEPID). The main event, held in Mumbai, brought together over 300 participants, including neurodiverse individuals, caregivers, experts, and NGO partners.

Since its launch in 2022, the initiative has focused on strengthening access to early diagnosis, caregiver support, and inclusive services. A key component is the E-Sanidhya platform, developed with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and Tata Elxsi, which provides free screening, expert consultations, and guidance. The platform currently supports more than 14,000 users, particularly in underserved regions.

To further improve accessibility, Tata Power also operates a toll-free autism helpline (1800 2099 488), offering real-time support to caregivers, educators, and families.

The initiative includes experiential activities such as therapy sessions, sensory engagement zones, and creative workshops designed to support developmental needs and encourage inclusive participation.

Himal Tewari, CHRO & Chief – Sustainability & CSR, Tata Power, said, “Through our experiences, we have realised that for families navigating autism, the biggest challenge is not just awareness, but access. Access to the right information, timely diagnosis, and sustained support. Bridging these gaps requires more than awareness. It calls for building systems that are accessible, inclusive, and continuous. At Tata Power, Pay Autention is a one-of-a-kind effort to create that continuum through partnerships with institutions like NIEPID and platforms such as E Sanidhya that bring early screening, expert guidance, and caregiver support closer to those who need it most. As we scale ahead, our focus is on using technology and partnerships to take this support deeper into communities, especially underserved regions, so that inclusion becomes a dependable, everyday reality for every family.”

As part of the next phase, Tata Power plans to expand the E-Sanidhya platform into multiple regional languages and scale its play-based learning programme using the Six Bricks methodology in partnership with the LEGO Foundation.

The initiative reflects Tata Power’s broader commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, focusing on building scalable support systems for the neurodiversity community through partnerships, technology, and community engagement.
