New Delhi, June 04, 2026: Smile Foundation has reported delivering 20 lakh healthcare treatments during the financial year 2025–26 through its community healthcare programmes across India. The organisation said it has provided healthcare services to more than 70 lakh people cumulatively since launching its community healthcare initiative in 2006.
Operating across 90 districts, including 22 Aspirational Districts, in 22 states, Smile Foundation currently runs 143 healthcare projects. These include 124 Mobile Medical Units (MMUs), six static clinics, six Mobile Telemedicine Units (MTUs), two Mobile Dental Units (MDUs), four Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, Adolescent Health and Nutrition (RMNCAH+N) projects, and a Boat Clinic.
The healthcare programme focuses on improving access to primary healthcare in underserved regions where geographic, socio-economic and infrastructural barriers often limit access to medical services. The initiative aligns with national programmes such as Ayushman Bharat, the National Digital Health Mission, the National Programme for Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases, and POSHAN Abhiyaan.
According to the organisation, 17.80 lakh curative treatments were delivered during FY26 through its network of mobile medical units, telemedicine units and static clinics. Preventive and promotive healthcare services reached 1.15 lakh individuals, while 1.57 lakh people underwent screening for non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and anaemia.
The programme also includes health awareness campaigns and school health initiatives focused on hygiene, nutrition and preventive healthcare. Special healthcare interventions are being implemented for truck drivers, construction workers and employees in the automobile sector.
Smile Foundation stated that it has integrated technology-enabled systems, including electronic patient databases, GPS-based tracking, real-time dashboards and digital monitoring tools, to improve service delivery, medicine management and disease tracking. These systems also support coordination with government healthcare facilities and help reduce healthcare expenses for low-income families.
The organisation’s healthcare projects are operational across diverse geographies, including Ladakh, Rajasthan, Assam and urban settlements in major cities.
Mr. Santanu Mishra, Co-Founder & Executive Trustee, Smile Foundation, said, “Our doctors, nurses, community mobilisers and partners work across some of India’s most challenging geographies. We remain grateful to our supporters and local administrations whose collaboration strengthens our ability to align with national health priorities and ensure that quality primary healthcare is accessible to every citizen.”
