New Delhi, July 04, 2025: Sangini Saheli, a women-led initiative focused on grassroots empowerment and social impact, celebrated its 5th anniversary at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The event brought together stakeholders, public figures, and community members to reflect on the initiative’s journey and future goals.

Founded and led by Ms. Priyal Bhardwaj, General Secretary of BJP Mahila Morcha, Delhi, Sangini Saheli has worked over the past five years to mobilize Self Help Groups (SHGs), promote women-led development, and empower communities through education, livelihood programs, and youth engagement.

“This journey has never been about charity—it’s been about solidarity. From one Saheli to thousands, we’ve proven that when women are trusted to lead, entire communities thrive,” said Ms. Priyal Bhardwaj in her welcome address.
“Good intentions are not enough. They need good infrastructure. And infrastructure doesn’t just mean buildings or broadband. It means trust, process, and people who stay,” she added.

The celebration included a curated SHG exhibition, cultural performances by Sanskrit Bharti students, a screening of the impact film Sangini Saheli Through the Years, and a felicitation ceremony for outstanding SHG leaders, educators, students, and internal youth teams.

“Today, as we celebrate five incredible years, I’m filled with gratitude for every woman who believed in herself and in our mission. This journey is just the beginning, and together, we will continue to build a stronger, more inclusive future,” Bhardwaj said.

Shri Baijayant Panda, Member of Parliament and National Vice President of the BJP, attended as Chief Guest. In his address, he praised Sangini Saheli’s work and its alignment with the vision of Viksit Bharat.

“The women associated with Sangini Saheli—be it in rural collectives, SHGs, or urban grassroots movements—are not just participants, but pivotal agents of India’s transformation. Their efforts stand as a testament to what inclusive development truly looks like when it begins at the grassroots,” said Shri Panda.

He also expressed his ongoing support for the initiative, stating it was a privilege to be part of its journey and reaffirming his commitment to people-centric programs.

The event concluded with acknowledgments and a reaffirmation of Sangini Saheli’s mission to expand its impact in rural areas and deepen its work in women’s skilling, education, and entrepreneurship.
