New Delhi, April 25, 2026: Dasra, in partnership with the NFSSM Alliance, has launched ‘Sanitation.network’, an AI-enabled knowledge platform aimed at improving access to sanitation-related insights and supporting informed decision-making across India.
The platform has been developed to address a key challenge in the sanitation sector—fragmented access to knowledge despite the availability of extensive research, case studies, and tools. By creating a centralised digital infrastructure, the initiative seeks to streamline access to actionable information for policymakers, practitioners, and researchers.
Sanitation.network hosts over 430 curated resources, including toolkits, research reports, and case studies contributed by Alliance members and sector partners. The platform features an AI-powered conversational interface that enables users to access context-specific insights based on their roles and requirements. It also supports interactions in more than 15 regional languages, improving accessibility across diverse user groups.
The platform builds on Dasra’s long-standing collaboration with the NFSSM Alliance, which has focused on strengthening inclusive sanitation systems through knowledge sharing, stakeholder engagement, and collective action. The initiative aims to reduce duplication, improve knowledge application, and bridge gaps between information availability and on-ground implementation.
Commenting on the development, Kaveri Dhavan, Associate Director, Urban Sanitation, Dasra, said, “Through our long-standing engagement with the NFSSM Alliance, we’ve seen the sanitation sector steadily evolve, driven by new technologies, policy shifts, and rising expectations on outcomes. Today, the challenge is no longer a lack of knowledge, but it’s timely access to relevant, usable insights. Sanitation.network responds to this need by shifting the focus from knowledge creation to enabling a shared infrastructure that helps translate knowledge into actionable insights, grounded in the collective experience of Alliance partners across contexts.”
The platform was launched during Dasra Philanthropy Week 2026, where discussions focused on leveraging AI as public infrastructure to support development outcomes. The initiative aligns with broader efforts to integrate technology into public systems and improve service delivery.
Dhruv Mitter, Associate Director, Urban Sanitation, Dasra, added, “Sanitation.network demonstrates how shared digital infrastructure can improve access to actionable knowledge and enable more aligned decision-making across systems. It reinforces the importance of investing in long-term, public-interest digital assets that support the ecosystem as a whole, beyond individual programs or initiatives.”
By anchoring the platform within a collaborative ecosystem, the initiative aims to strengthen institutional capacity and support long-term improvements in sanitation systems across India.
