New Delhi, March 06, 2026: Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has launched two community healthcare initiatives focused on menstrual hygiene awareness and anaemia reduction across Gurugram, Rohtak and Sonipat districts in Haryana. The initiatives, implemented under the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, aim to improve health awareness and outcomes among adolescents, women and mothers in rural and semi-urban communities.

Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) including SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 5 (Gender Equality), the programmes are expected to benefit more than 21,000 residents across the three districts.

As part of the intervention, Maruti Suzuki has introduced a year-long Menstrual Hygiene Programme currently being implemented in two government schools in Rohtak and Kharkhoda, with plans to expand the initiative to eight additional schools in Manesar. The programme will reach over 4,500 students from Classes 6 to 12 and aims to improve awareness around menstrual health, address misconceptions, and encourage hygienic practices among adolescents.

The initiative will also engage parents, teachers and community stakeholders to foster a supportive environment and promote sustained behavioural change related to menstrual hygiene.

Alongside this, Maruti Suzuki has launched a comprehensive Anaemia Reduction Programme across 10 villages in Gurugram, Rohtak and Sonipat districts. The initiative builds on previous anaemia-related interventions undertaken by the company in Haryana and aligns with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s Anaemia Mukt Bharat Mission.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), anaemia continues to be a significant global public health concern, particularly affecting young children, pregnant and postpartum women, and menstruating adolescent girls. Through this programme, Maruti Suzuki aims to reach around 16,500 beneficiaries with a focus on vulnerable groups.

Implemented in collaboration with the state government, the programme includes community screening, nutrition awareness campaigns and sustained follow-ups to monitor the health status of beneficiaries.

Mr. Rahul Bharti, Senior Executive Officer, Corporate Affairs, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “At Maruti Suzuki, we believe that true leadership is about sharing and spreading progress. Through our comprehensive CSR interventions, we strive to uplift communities around our plants. Our community development efforts span across healthcare, education, sanitation, water access, and infrastructure. Our Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Project and the Anaemia Reduction Program are set to reach over 21,000 people, including adolescents, women, and mothers.”

Through these interventions, Maruti Suzuki aims to strengthen community health awareness and support long-term improvements in the well-being of women and adolescents across Haryana.
