JM Frictech Launches ‘Vision for Tomorrow’ to Expand Access to Eye Care in Tamil Nadu

Chennai, August 05, 2026: JM Frictech India Pvt. Ltd. (JMIL) has launched ‘Vision for Tomorrow’, a community-focused initiative aimed at improving access to sight-restoring treatment for underserved individuals across Tamil Nadu. The programme, implemented through the company's JIVEN Trust, is being carried out in partnership with the Rotary Club of Madras East and Aravind Eye Care System.

Launched at Aravind Eye Care Hospital, Poonamallee, Chennai, the initiative will see JMIL invest ₹40 lakh over the next year to support 1,500 cataract surgeries and 50 corneal transplant procedures.

The programme integrates Project PAARVAI, which will facilitate free cataract surgeries, and Project Punar PAARVAI, which will support corneal transplants for underprivileged patients. Together, the initiatives aim to address preventable blindness and improve access to quality eye care for underserved communities.

In addition to these interventions, the JIVEN Trust has already distributed more than 500 AI-powered vision glasses across Tamil Nadu. Each device, valued at approximately ₹30,000, is intended to improve vision care through technology-enabled solutions.

The launch event was attended by representatives from JM Frictech India, Aravind Eye Care System, Rotary Club of Madras East, eye care specialists and programme beneficiaries.

According to the company, Vision for Tomorrow is part of its broader community engagement efforts to reduce avoidable blindness, improve access to essential eye-care services and create long-term social impact across Tamil Nadu.
