Adani Foundation’s Sangini Mart Initiative Supports Rural Woman Entrepreneur in Jharkhand

New Delhi, August 07, 2026: ACC, the cement and building materials company of the diversified Adani Portfolio, in partnership with the Adani Foundation, is supporting rural women in Jharkhand through livelihood initiatives under its Sangini Mart programme.

One such beneficiary is Nishu Devi, a 45-year-old resident of Chhatatand village in Sindri. A mother of four, Nishu faced financial hardship as her family relied primarily on her husband’s income from small-scale farming, making it difficult to meet household expenses and support their children’s education.

Under the Sangini Mart initiative, the Adani Foundation provided Nishu with guidance and support to establish a sustainable livelihood. The programme enabled her to develop an independent source of income and strengthen her family’s financial stability.

According to the Foundation, Nishu now earns between ₹7,000 and ₹8,000 per month, reducing her family’s dependence on uncertain agricultural earnings. The additional income has also helped her support her children’s higher education.

The Sangini Mart initiative is part of the Adani Foundation’s broader efforts to promote sustainable livelihoods and economic empowerment among rural women in communities surrounding ACC’s operations. By creating income-generating opportunities, the programme aims to improve household resilience and encourage greater financial independence.

Nishu’s experience highlights the role of community-based livelihood programmes in supporting women entrepreneurs and enhancing economic opportunities in rural areas.
