Light of Life Trust to List on BSE Social Stock Exchange

Mumbai, February 05, 2026: Light of Life Trust (LOLT), a nationally recognised non-profit with over two decades of work in advancing educational equity, is set to be listed on the BSE Social Stock Exchange. The proposed listing places LOLT among a small but growing group of organisations adopting India’s emerging framework for transparent, accountable and outcome-driven social finance.

The Social Stock Exchange enables contributors to support verified social initiatives through standardised disclosures, audited financials and impact-linked reporting. LOLT’s planned entry reflects its institutional governance practices, monitoring systems and a track record of delivering measurable outcomes at scale.

Founded to address secondary school dropouts among economically vulnerable children, Light of Life Trust has focused on the critical transition from Class VIII onwards, where dropout rates are highest. Over the past 20 years, the organisation has reintegrated more than 24,000 out-of-school children into formal education. Around 70% of enrolled students continue through secondary schooling, higher education or early employment pathways.

At programme entry, beneficiary households reported average monthly incomes below ₹4,500. Post-completion outcomes indicate sustained improvements, with a significant share of alumni earning between ₹15,000 and ₹45,000 per month. These gains point to improvements in employability, financial independence and social mobility across both rural and urban contexts.

The upcoming SSE issue, expected to be listed by mid-February 2026, aims to support 420 new students from Bihar and Jharkhand—states that continue to face high levels of poverty and education exclusion. The annual cost per child is ₹15,000, covering academic support, mentoring, retention interventions and career-readiness inputs.

Contributors can choose to support individual students, full education centres comprising about 70 children, or multiple centres, allowing structured participation aligned with measurable outcomes. All contributions through the SSE will be governed by the Exchange’s disclosure and reporting norms.

Through the proposed listing, Light of Life Trust seeks to broaden participation from individuals, institutions and CSR partners, aligning capital with credible, long-term social impact in education.
