New Delhi, March 17, 2026: Lava International Limited has announced a new initiative aimed at increasing women’s participation in electronics manufacturing by onboarding over 150 women from underserved communities at its facility in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
The initiative focuses on providing skill development, structured employment and inclusive workplace policies to young women, many of whom are first-generation industrial workers. As part of this effort, the company has also launched a dedicated women assembly line, designed to improve access to core manufacturing roles.
Women employed under the initiative are engaged across multiple functions including assembly, packaging, quality control, industrial engineering, production planning, and plant support operations. The company stated that it is prioritising pay parity, safe working conditions and flexible work schedules to create an enabling work environment.
The programme aims to support women from modest socio-economic backgrounds in building long-term careers in smartphone manufacturing, while contributing to India’s growing electronics production ecosystem.
Speaking on the initiative, Sanjeev Agarwal, Executive Director and Chief Manufacturing Officer, Lava International Limited, said, “At Lava, we believe that building a strong manufacturing ecosystem must go hand in hand with creating inclusive opportunities. Our focus has been on enabling youth from modest backgrounds to build meaningful careers in electronics manufacturing by providing the right skills, safe workplaces and equal opportunities. Bridging the gender gap with pay parity, strong safety measures and supportive workplace policies, are aligned to a sustainable growth project. As we scale our manufacturing operations, we will continue to double down on expanding women’s participation across our assembly lines and production ecosystem.”
The initiative forms part of Lava’s broader approach to sustainable and inclusive growth, which focuses on expanding workforce participation in manufacturing, particularly among underrepresented groups.
By creating pathways for women to enter and grow within the electronics manufacturing sector, the company aims to enable financial independence, skill enhancement and career progression for individuals from smaller towns and economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
The move comes at a time when India is positioning itself as a global hub for electronics manufacturing, with increasing emphasis on inclusive workforce development. Lava’s initiative highlights the role of industry in supporting both economic growth and social inclusion through targeted employment and skilling programmes.
