New Delhi, February 06, 2026: JSW Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the JSW Group, has announced a collaboration with Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship to support the participation of Indian artisans at Homo Faber 2026, to be held in Venice later this year.

Under the partnership, JSW Foundation will enable Indian artisans to take part in the fourth edition of the Homo Faber Biennial, scheduled from 1 to 30 September 2026 at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini on San Giorgio Maggiore Island, Venice. The biennial is an internationally recognised platform that brings together master artisans from across the world, positioning craftsmanship as a contemporary and evolving creative practice.

The upcoming edition, curated under the theme “Homo Faber 2026: An Island of Light,” will showcase works by artisans representing a wide range of materials, techniques and cultural traditions. Through its role as a Homo Faber Guardian of Creativity and Craftsmanship, JSW Foundation will support the inclusion of Indian artisans, offering them international visibility and engagement within a global creative dialogue.

The collaboration was announced on 5 February at the India Art Fair in the presence of Tarini Jindal Handa and Sangita Jindal, reinforcing the Foundation’s focus on promoting craft traditions from India and South Asia on global platforms.

Speaking on the collaboration, Sangita Jindal, Chairperson, JSW Foundation, said, “We are proud that JSW Foundation will participate in Homo Faber in Venice in September 2026, creating an international stage where Indian master artisans engage with global audiences, not as representatives of folklore, but as peers in a shared creative language.”

Sangita Jindal has led several initiatives at JSW Foundation aimed at strengthening artisan livelihoods through skill development, design collaborations, market access and exposure to global platforms, while preserving traditional craft practices and positioning artisans as contemporary creators.

Commenting on the partnership, Alberto Cavalli, Executive Director, Michelangelo Foundation, said, “Homo Faber 2026 will be dedicated to craft artists from all over the world, whose outstanding artworks will contribute to the narrative that Artistic Director Es Devlin is creating. Our partnership with JSW Foundation is allowing us to give space, attention and relevance to a meaningful selection of gifted artisans from India whose work represents the authenticity, beauty and sophistication of contemporary Indian artisanship. Their participation will help these artisans gain reputation, visibility and hope – the same hope we share: that beauty, crafted by humans for humans, will always be the universal language that nourishes our community.”

With this initiative, JSW Foundation continues its long-term engagement with India’s craft sector, supporting efforts to position Indian artisans within a global contemporary framework that recognises craftsmanship as a forward-looking creative and economic force.
