New Delhi, January 29, 2026: Instamart has announced enhanced safety initiatives for its delivery partners as part of National Road Safety Month 2026, aligning with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways’ Sadak Suraksha Abhiyan (SSA). The new measures are aimed at improving emergency preparedness, real-time response, and preventive safety support for on-road delivery personnel.
As part of the initiative, Instamart has partnered with VecRep to introduce a two-pronged safety programme that combines a QR-code-enabled emergency response system with free preventive vehicle inspections. The rollout builds on Swiggy’s existing Delivering Safely charter, which focuses on responsible riding practices and reducing on-road risks among delivery partners.
At the centre of the initiative is ResQTag, a QR- and NFC-enabled safety solution that allows delivery partners to trigger instant emergency alerts in case of accidents, breakdowns, or roadside distress. Once activated, the system notifies registered emergency contacts without revealing personal phone numbers, ensuring privacy while enabling timely assistance during critical situations.
In addition to emergency response, Instamart is offering free safety inspections and priority servicing through VecRep’s network of verified garages. These inspections are designed to reduce vehicle-related risks and minimise downtime by identifying mechanical issues early. The pilot currently live across several cities, including Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Greater Noida, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Mohali, Zirakpur, Panchkula, Kharar, and Dehradun.
Ankit Jain, Chief Operating Officer at Instamart, said, “Our delivery partners are the backbone of everything we do, and their safety will always be a priority. With solutions like ResQTag, combined with practical on-ground training and preventive support, we’re enhancing real-time emergency response and promoting safer, more confident riding habits, firmly placing delivery partners’ safety and well-being first.”
Rajat Soni, Co-Founder – VecRep, said, “Delivery partners spend most of their time on the road, and safety interventions need to be practical, fast, and built for real-world scenarios. Through Sadak Suraksha Abhiyan, our collaboration with Instamart brings together ResQTag’s instant emergency response capability with on-ground training and preventive vehicle care, creating a safety net that works when seconds matter.”
The initiative complements Swiggy’s ongoing road safety efforts. In 2025, the platform conducted more than 22 structured road safety awareness workshops in collaboration with city traffic police departments, along with safety rallies and helmet distribution drives to sensitise delivery partners.
These new measures add to Swiggy’s broader safety framework, which includes an in-app SOS feature connecting delivery partners to helplines, local police, or hospitals. In 2023, Swiggy became the first delivery platform to introduce free ambulance services for delivery partners. The platform currently supports over 6.9 lakh delivery partners nationwide, offering benefits such as accident insurance, medical coverage, income support during recovery, and bereavement assistance.
