New Delhi, 24 February, 2026: Insecticides (India) Limited (IIL) organised a nationwide Product Stewardship Day, conducting over 425 meetings across multiple states to train farmers and channel partners on the safe and responsible use of crop protection chemicals.

The initiative saw participation from more than 26,000 farmers. The sessions focused on reinforcing safety precautions, correct application practices, and responsible handling of crop protection products to minimise risks to users, consumers, and the environment. Several meetings were organised in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) at their respective centres.

Crop protection products are widely used to safeguard crops against weeds, insects and diseases, contributing to improved agricultural productivity. However, their use requires adherence to safety guidelines to prevent environmental damage and ensure public health. Through the programme, IIL aimed to enhance awareness around safe usage practices and sustainable farming methods.

Mr. Rajesh Aggarwal, Managing Director, Insecticides (India) Limited, said, “Agriculture is the backbone of our nation, and empowering farmers with the right knowledge is essential for sustainable growth. Responsible use of crop protection solutions ensures not only higher yields but also safer food production and environmental balance. With this initiative, we aim to reach thousands of farmers, educating them on best practices in a day in addition to our regular safety programs just to highlight its importance. At IIL, we believe stewardship is a shared responsibility."

Mr. Dushyant Sood, Chief Marketing Officer, added, “At IIL, we believe stewardship is a shared responsibility. By equipping them with essential training practically with safety kits, we enable them to make informed choices that benefit their crops, soil health, and overall well-being of every one from grower to consumer.”

The company stated that the programme complements its ongoing safety and awareness efforts within the agricultural sector.
