Kerala, March 18, 2026: BeAble Health has signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jeevaniyam Research Center and the Centre for Healthcare Entrepreneurship (CfHE) at IIT Hyderabad to develop and scale AI-enabled rehabilitation solutions for children with neurodevelopmental and neuromuscular conditions.

The collaboration focuses on addressing gaps in technology access, clinical validation and skilled workforce availability in paediatric rehabilitation, particularly for conditions such as Cerebral Palsy (CP), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD.

By combining BeAble Health’s engineering capabilities, Jeevaniyam’s clinical expertise and patient access, and IIT Hyderabad’s research and innovation ecosystem, the partnership aims to create affordable, validated and scalable rehabilitation technologies.

Speaking on the collaboration, Professor Renu John, IIT Hyderabad, said, “Our focus has always been on helping innovations move from the lab to real-world impact. Through this collaboration, BeAble Health and Jeevaniyam will access our prototyping infrastructure, receive mentorship on regulatory pathways, IP strategy, and business planning, and gain help connecting the initiative with investors, industry partners, and the broader healthcare ecosystem. We aim to help accelerate the development and scale-up of technology-led rehabilitation solutions that can improve access to care for children with neurological and developmental conditions.”

Dr Reshmi Pramod, Founder and Medical Director, Jeevaniyam Hospitals, added, “Through this collaboration with BeAble Health and CfHe, we want to explore how AI-led rehabilitation can improve therapy for children with conditions such as cerebral palsy, autism, as well as for adults living with stroke and Parkinson’s disease. Over the years, we have seen the kind of role technology can play in improving patient outcomes. At Jeevaniyam, through partnerships like these, we are trying to combine traditional care approaches with modern rehabilitation tools to make therapy more personalized and effective.”

The initiative will also focus on clinical validation and trials of BeAble Health’s flagship device, ArmAble, at Jeevaniyam’s Kochi facility. The device is designed to support motor rehabilitation in children with cerebral palsy and other neuromuscular conditions through interactive, game-based therapy.

Commenting on the need for innovation, Habib Ali, CEO and Co-Founder, BeAble Health, said, “About 3 in every 1,000 children in India are born with cerebral palsy, and millions more live with conditions such as autism and ADHD. Yet rehabilitation for these children often remains repetitive and difficult to sustain. Technology has transformed many areas of healthcare, and it has the potential to make rehabilitation more engaging, personalised, and effective. Tools like ArmAble can help children practise essential movements through interactive therapy rather than routine exercises. By bringing together BeAble’s technology development, Jeevaniyam’s clinical expertise, and IIT Hyderabad’s research ecosystem, this partnership aims to build and validate rehabilitation solutions that can make a meaningful difference for children and their families.”

In addition to product development, the collaboration will include training programmes for therapists and students, as well as clinical research and peer-reviewed studies to strengthen evidence-based rehabilitation practices in India.

The initiative is expected to contribute to improving access to quality rehabilitation care, while building capacity at the intersection of healthcare and technology.
