New Delhi, April 25, 2026: ASUS India has completed one year of its digital literacy initiative, implemented in partnership with VIDYA India, reaching over 14,000 students, youth, and women across Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Goa.

The programme has impacted more than 13,500 children and youth, trained over 650 young individuals, and engaged 1,100+ women through digital awareness sessions. It is currently being implemented across 19 active projects with structured delivery and trained facilitators.

Designed as a curriculum-led initiative, the programme provides access to digital education through computer labs, ASUS Vivobooks, and a weekly learning framework. Participants are trained in foundational and advanced digital skills, including MS Office, programming languages such as Scratch and Python, digital safety, and introductory AI concepts.

A key focus of the initiative has been improving employability among youth. Through certified training modules covering technical and soft skills, several participants have secured entry-level roles in retail and service sectors, demonstrating a clear pathway from learning to livelihood.

Eric Ou, South Asia Regional Director, ASUS, said, “Over the past year, ASUS India has driven structured access to digital learning for communities that have traditionally had limited exposure to technology. The progress we are seeing today, both in terms of scale and individual outcomes, reinforces the importance of consistent, on-ground interventions. From classrooms to career pathways, this initiative reflects our continued commitment to building relevant digital skills and enabling long-term impact.”

The programme has also enabled individual success stories. Krish Jha, a Class 10 student from Vapi, gained exposure to digital tools, AI concepts, and cybersecurity, helping him build confidence and develop projects independently. “The digital literacy program has helped me in my studies and daily life by making it easier to search for information, complete homework and use digital tools. I have learned many new skills, like typing using basic software and browsing safely. Now I feel much more confident using your computer, and one moment, I felt proud when I was able to create a project on the computer all by myself. I believe these skills will help me in the future,” he said.

Similarly, Mamta Lamani and Kirti Rathod from Goa secured cashier roles while continuing their education, and Rupali Prajapati from Mumbai transitioned into an accounting role after completing training in Basic IT and Tally.

With strong participation levels and growing outcomes, ASUS India plans to expand the initiative further by strengthening curriculum delivery and enhancing linkages between digital skills and employment opportunities.
