New Delhi, July 14, 2025: Ambuja Foundation, in partnership with HDFC Bank Parivartan, has launched a new phase of the Holistic Rural Development Program (HRDP) in Charkhi Dadri, Haryana. The three-year initiative will focus on improving the socio-economic well-being of communities across 15 villages in the Bhadra block through integrated development across agriculture, women’s empowerment, health, education, and natural resource management.
The collaboration builds on a long-standing partnership between Ambuja Foundation and HDFC Bank that has impacted over 800,000 people across 22 districts since 2018.
As part of the initiative, Ambuja Foundation will set up farmer clubs and provide training on improved agricultural practices, including the use of green manuring, vermicomposting, waste decomposer, and bio-fertilizers. Model plots will be developed, and Farm Machinery Banks will be created to facilitate access to essential tools. Exposure visits will also be organised to promote knowledge exchange among farmers.
In the area of women’s empowerment, the program will support dairy-based livelihoods through clean milk production sessions, cattle vaccination camps, and fodder training. Milk collection centres will also be established to improve quality and income for women.
On the health and sanitation front, the initiative will address challenges such as non-communicable diseases, poor waste management, and substance use through regular health camps, awareness sessions, and behavioural change communication. Menstrual hygiene education, health worker capacity building, and the distribution of essential health supplies will also be key components.
To strengthen rural education, smart classrooms will be developed in government schools, and infrastructure will be upgraded to include mid-day meal facilities, drinking water, and other basic amenities. These improvements aim to bridge the gap in educational quality between government and private institutions.
Under natural resource management, the project will form Village Development Committees to oversee the renovation of ponds for groundwater recharge and introduce broader water management and plantation initiatives. Solar-powered streetlights will also be installed to improve community safety and access.
“Ambuja Foundation and HDFC Bank are committed to creating meaningful, sustainable change in the lives of rural communities. This strategic partnership is built on trust and a shared purpose. With this new HRDP project in Haryana, we aim to drive efficient farming, empower women, strengthen schools, improve health, and enable wiser management of natural resources. Together, we look forward to enabling economic growth and fostering greater prosperity and climate resilience at the grassroots,” said Ms. Pearl Tiwari, CEO, Ambuja Foundation.
