New Delhi, December 30, 2025: ACC, part of the Adani Portfolio, along with Adani Foundation, has implemented a climate action and water conservation initiative in Dhakori village, addressing long-standing water scarcity and improving agricultural livelihoods.
Under the initiative, a cement nala bund was constructed upstream to capture monsoon runoff that previously flowed downstream without being stored. The structure now creates a reliable water reserve, recharges groundwater, and ensures year-round availability for irrigation. As a result, 96 acres of farmland are benefiting, enabling farmers to cultivate multiple crops instead of being limited to a single season.
The intervention is supporting around 35 farmers, who have reported an increase in income of approximately ₹18,000 per acre. In addition to agricultural gains, the improved water availability has strengthened household and livestock water security, contributing to greater stability for the wider community.
The project demonstrates how climate-focused, community-driven infrastructure can translate into tangible outcomes for rural regions facing water stress. By combining local needs with sustainable water management practices, ACC and the Adani Foundation aim to build long-term resilience in drought-prone areas of Maharashtra.
