Ghaziabad, August 11, 2026: Kia India has commenced the on-ground implementation of Phase IV of its flagship CSR initiative, Project D.R.O.P. (Develop Responsible Outlook for Plastic), in Ghaziabad and Greater Noida. The initiative, implemented in partnership with the Indian Pollution Control Association (IPCA), aims to strengthen community-led plastic waste collection, recycling and awareness across the National Capital Region.
The latest phase expands Project D.R.O.P.’s presence across key cities, bringing together local communities, civic authorities, educational institutions and waste management stakeholders to promote responsible plastic waste management.
With the addition of Ghaziabad and Greater Noida, Project D.R.O.P. has expanded its presence across multiple locations, including Gurugram, Bengaluru, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Panchkula, Zirakpur, Delhi, Noida and Ambala, besides the newly added NCR locations.
The Ghaziabad launch was attended by Smt. Shilpa Chaudhary, Councillor, Vasundhara, Ward 61, as Chief Guest and Dr. Mithilesh Kumar, Health Officer, Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation, as Guest of Honour. Ms. Sunila Athley, Principal, Amity International School, Vasundhara, and Dr. Radha Goyal, Deputy Director, IPCA, were also present.
In Greater Noida, Mr. Alok Kumar, General Manager, Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA), attended as Chief Guest. The event also saw participation from Mr. Ajay Garg, Secretary, IPCA; Dr. Radha Goyal, Deputy Director, IPCA; senior GNIDA officials, Resident Welfare Associations, academic institutions and community stakeholders.
The Phase IV rollout includes the installation of D.R.O.P. Community Bins and the deployment of dedicated D.R.O.P. Collection Vehicles to facilitate structured plastic waste collection and recycling.
The initiative also uses community awareness activities to encourage responsible waste disposal. Street plays were organised during the launches to engage students, residents and other community members on the importance of plastic waste management and sustainable disposal practices.
Project D.R.O.P. is Kia India’s flagship environmental sustainability initiative and focuses on improving plastic waste management through awareness, community participation and partnerships with civic bodies and local stakeholders. The expansion into Ghaziabad and Greater Noida is intended to strengthen on-ground engagement and support cleaner communities across the NCR.
