Bengaluru, March 09, 2026: Aahwahan Foundation, in partnership with Reserve Bank Information Technology Pvt. Ltd. (ReBIT), has launched a new Women Empowerment Centre in Bengaluru on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The initiative introduces a free stitching and tailoring training unit aimed at equipping underprivileged women with practical livelihood skills and improving their economic independence.
The centre is designed to provide vocational training to more than 1,000 women from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Through structured courses in stitching and garment production, participants will gain the skills needed to start home-based businesses, pursue self-employment opportunities or join the workforce in the apparel sector.
According to the organisers, the training programme aims to create sustainable income opportunities for women while strengthening their confidence and financial independence. Beyond skill development, the initiative seeks to help women become active contributors to their families and communities.
The collaboration between Aahwahan Foundation and ReBIT also highlights the role of corporate social responsibility (CSR) partnerships in advancing women’s empowerment initiatives in India. Such collaborations can help expand access to education, skills training and employment opportunities for women from underserved communities.
Women’s empowerment has remained a core focus area for Aahwahan Foundation, which works across multiple sectors including education, healthcare, skill development and community welfare. Through its programmes, the organisation aims to ensure that women are not only beneficiaries but also active participants in development processes at the community level.
Over the years, Aahwahan Foundation has implemented 19 initiatives across India and has reached more than 6.29 lakh beneficiaries, supporting communities through various social development programmes.
The launch of the Women Empowerment Centre in Bengaluru marks the organisation’s 47th centre, reinforcing its efforts to expand skill development opportunities for women and strengthen community-level empowerment initiatives across the country.
