Aahwahan Foundation and Acuiti Labs Distribute Bicycles to Support Girls’ Education in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, March 18, 2026: Aahwahan Foundation, in collaboration with Acuiti Labs, has implemented Project Udaan, an initiative aimed at improving access to education for girls by addressing mobility and well-being challenges. As part of the programme, 45 bicycles and 300 wellness kits were distributed to girl students at a government school in Bengaluru.

The initiative focuses on tackling one of the key barriers to education for girls—safe and reliable transportation to school. In many underserved communities, long travel distances, unsafe routes and limited public transport often lead to irregular attendance and, in some cases, school dropouts.

Through the provision of bicycles, the programme enables students to commute more safely and efficiently, reducing travel time and physical strain. Improved mobility is expected to support regular attendance, greater participation in school activities and continuity in education.

In addition to mobility support, the distribution of 300 wellness kits addresses essential hygiene and health needs of adolescent girls. Access to basic hygiene resources plays a critical role in maintaining confidence, dignity and consistent school participation, particularly during adolescence.

A representative from Aahwahan Foundation said, “Education is not just about classrooms and textbooks — it is also about ensuring that every child can reach school safely and continue learning without barriers. Through Project Udaan, we aim to remove mobility challenges and create an environment where girls feel empowered to pursue education and build a brighter future.”

The initiative reflects a collaborative approach between the non-profit and corporate sectors to address grassroots challenges in education. By combining infrastructure support with health and hygiene interventions, Project Udaan adopts a holistic model for improving educational access and outcomes.

Aahwahan Foundation has been working in the areas of education and community development, focusing on addressing structural barriers that limit learning opportunities for children from underserved backgrounds. Initiatives such as Project Udaan aim to create long-term impact by improving access, reducing dropout risks and supporting inclusive education.

The programme also highlights the role of corporate social responsibility (CSR) partnerships in driving measurable change at the community level. By enabling safe mobility and supporting well-being, the initiative contributes to building an environment where girls can continue their education with greater confidence and independence.
