Veolia Foundation Launches APAC Emergency Response Hub in Delhi

New Delhi, October 2026: The Veolia Foundation has launched a new Veoliaforce Hub in Delhi, establishing India as a regional base for emergency response operations across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. The hub will enable the rapid deployment of specialised teams, equipment and mobile water treatment technologies during natural disasters and humanitarian crises.

The Delhi hub will function as an operational and training centre, with equipment pre-positioned for rapid mobilisation. Its resources include mobile water treatment technology designed for emergency conditions and Aquaforce units capable of supplying safe drinking water to populations of around 2,000 to 7,500 people per unit.

The regional response model combines locally trained employees, pre-positioned equipment and Veolia’s expertise in water, sanitation and essential services. By positioning resources in India ahead of emergencies, the Foundation aims to reduce response time and provide access to safe drinking water and other essential services during the initial stages of a crisis.

The launch included a week-long field training and certification programme for 25 volunteers from Veolia operations across India, including Bengaluru, Noida, Gujarat, Karnataka and Nagpur. The volunteers participated in crisis simulations and trained on the deployment of specialised technologies, including Aquaforce mobile water treatment units.

Guillaume Dourdin, Chief Executive Officer, India at Veolia, said: “Building environmental security and protecting essential services is an urgent priority across India and the APAC region. With this new Veoliaforce Hub in Delhi, we are putting people, equipment and expertise closer to where they may be needed, so that we can respond faster when a disaster strikes. India's strategic location, growing disaster-response capabilities and strong Veolia operational footprint make it an ideal base for coordinating emergency interventions across South and Southeast Asia. By combining local talent, technical know-how, and specialized technology, Veolia is ready to deliver immediate, concrete aid when disasters strike”.

The hub will draw on the technical capabilities of Veolia employees working in areas such as water treatment, sanitation, logistics and environmental engineering. The trained volunteer pool will be mobilised alongside Veolia Foundation emergency partners when required.

David Poinard, Executive Officer, Veolia Foundation, said: “Proximity and rapid deployment are essential to delivering effective support during emergency situations. The Delhi hub gives our employees a concrete framework to put their professional skills at the service of communities affected by crises, while enabling us to mobilise the right expertise and equipment more rapidly across the region. . Through pre-positioned equipment and skills-based volunteering, our trained teams provide technical support directly to populations in distress, working alongside our emergency response partners,”

The launch event also brought together international emergency partners, including the Red Cross and local authorities, to discuss emergency response protocols and operational strategies. The Foundation said the Delhi hub will support coordination across South and Southeast Asia while complementing Veolia’s ongoing initiatives in India, including Medical Mobile Units in Gujarat and social insertion programmes such as LP4Y.
