Vedanta’s ‘Continuum of Care’ Reaches Over 30 Lakh Lives Through Community Healthcare Initiatives

New Delhi, April 09, 2026: Vedanta Limited has strengthened its commitment to community healthcare, impacting over 30 lakh people across more than 1,100 villages in India during FY26. The initiative, aligned with World Health Day, focuses on improving access to quality healthcare services in underserved regions through a comprehensive “Continuum of Care” approach.

The company invested over ₹50 crore in healthcare initiatives during the last financial year, taking its total investment in this domain to approximately ₹130 crore over the past four years. Vedanta’s strategy is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), aiming to address healthcare needs across all life stages.

Vedanta’s interventions span preventive healthcare, early diagnosis, primary treatment, and long-term disease management. Key focus areas include maternal and child health, adolescent well-being, nutrition security, and management of non-communicable diseases. The programmes are delivered through a mix of on-ground infrastructure, mobile healthcare units, digital tools, and trained community health workers to strengthen last-mile healthcare access.

A central component of the initiative is the Nand Ghar network—modernised anganwadis that provide integrated services including nutrition, early childhood care, and primary healthcare. In addition, Mobile Health Vans, medical centres, and partnerships with district hospitals are expanding access to essential services in remote areas.

Vedanta also supports BALCO Medical Centre in Naya Raipur, Chhattisgarh, a specialised cancer hospital offering advanced oncology care. The facility recently introduced the da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system, enhancing access to cutting-edge treatment options in Central India.

The company’s initiatives are delivering measurable improvements in health outcomes through early detection and sustained care. Programs such as Swasthya Saarthi and Mobile Health Vans are enabling doorstep healthcare delivery, reducing dependence on distant facilities. Diagnostic services, including those provided through Vedanta’s pathology clinic in Jharsuguda, are improving early detection of conditions such as anaemia and infections.

Real-life interventions highlight the impact of these efforts. Early screening in Rajasthan helped detect and treat severe anaemia in a young girl, while ongoing support in Odisha has enabled patients to manage chronic conditions such as hypertension and diabetes through regular monitoring and care.

Vedanta’s healthcare programmes are implemented in collaboration with government systems, medical professionals, and local communities, ensuring scalability and long-term sustainability. By integrating awareness, infrastructure, and technology-driven delivery, the company continues to contribute to national priorities such as universal health coverage and improved rural healthcare access.
