Noida, August 28, 2026: HCLTech has reported progress against its sustainability targets for FY26, including a reduction in emissions, increased renewable energy use, lower water consumption and higher investment in employee wellbeing.
The company said it reduced its Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 55.84% from its FY20 baseline, exceeding its target of a 50% reduction by 2030 four years ahead of schedule. Its total emissions footprint, covering Scope 1, 2 and 3, declined by 27.7% compared with FY20.
Renewable energy accounted for 49.79% of HCLTech’s total energy consumption in FY26, while it represented 89.65% of energy used by the company’s data centres. Since FY20, HCLTech said it has reduced energy consumption from conventional sources by 31%.
Water and Resource Management
HCLTech reported a water consumption rate of 10.68 litres per capita per day and said it replenished 51 times the amount of water consumed across its global operations.
The company also said all its campuses in India have maintained Zero Waste to Landfill Platinum certification since 2025. Its campuses have additionally achieved Platinum or LEED Platinum certification from leading Green Building Councils.

Focus on Employee Wellbeing and Inclusion
HCLTech invested 2.08% of its revenue in employee wellbeing in FY26, which the company said was the highest in the IT industry. Women accounted for more than 50% of the company’s Board and 29.6% of its workforce.
More than 90% of employees at nearshore facilities were hired locally, with women representing 66% of that workforce. The number of employees with disabilities also increased by 27.4%.
Through HCLFoundation, the company continued its community programmes in India and other regions. HCLTech said its Grant outlay in India increased by 45% in FY26, while $3 million was disbursed to non-profit organisations in the Americas over the past three years for climate action projects.
HCLFoundation’s interventions have impacted more than 8.4 million people in India, of whom 54% are women. The foundation has also planted more than 3.5 million saplings, greened 74,000 acres of land and harvested over 155 billion litres of water to date.
HCLTech said its sustainability performance also contributed to its inclusion in several global sustainability and employer rankings, alongside an EcoVadis Gold rating and an MSCI AA ESG rating for the second consecutive year in FY26.
