New Delhi, January 19, 2026: Uber has announced a set of initiatives aligned with the Delhi Government’s efforts to improve air quality and promote cleaner commuting choices across the national capital. The measures aim to encourage greater use of public transport, shared mobility, and electric vehicles, reducing reliance on private cars as pollution mitigation remains a key priority for the city.

To support increased adoption of the Delhi Metro, Uber is offering a first free Metro ride worth up to ₹25 for users booking Metro tickets through the Uber app for the first time. This offer will be available until January 21. By integrating Metro ticketing into its app, Uber aims to simplify access to public transport, reduce queues at stations, and make daily commuting more seamless.

In addition, Uber is strengthening first- and last-mile connectivity to Metro stations by offering discounts of up to 30% on bike trips, capped at ₹20, until February 11. These discounts apply to rides taken to and from Metro stations, helping commuters complete their journeys without depending on personal vehicles.

For longer trips, Uber is promoting cleaner and shared mobility alternatives. With nearly 1,000 electric vehicles operating in Delhi, Uber Electric is offering a 10% discount, up to ₹50, until February 11, providing a lower-emission travel option. The company is also highlighting Uber Shuttle, a high-capacity shared transport service designed to reduce the number of individual vehicles on the road and support more efficient commuting.

Together, these offerings are intended to complement Delhi’s public transport network and make sustainable travel choices more practical for everyday use.

Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Hon’ble Minister for Environment, Forest & Wildlife, Government of NCT of Delhi, said, “Under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta, the Delhi Government has announced a series of initiatives to curb air pollution. However, Delhi’s air quality challenge cannot be addressed without reducing the number of private vehicles on our roads. We appreciate efforts by shared mobility platforms such as Uber that encourage greater use of public transport, shared travel, and cleaner mobility options. Initiatives that provide viable alternatives to private cars support the Delhi Government’s broader strategy to improve air quality and ease congestion.”

Amit Deshpande, Head – City Operations, Uber India, said, “Tackling air quality challenges requires collective action and coordinated solutions. We’re proud to support the Delhi Government’s efforts by making it easier for people to choose public transit and sustainable mobility options. Whether it’s discounted Metro tickets, reliable first- and last-mile rides, electric vehicles or shared high capacity vehicles - our focus is on enabling smarter and sustainable choices for daily travel.”

Uber said it will continue working with transport authorities and city stakeholders to scale solutions that support cleaner air and more efficient urban mobility across Delhi.
