New Delhi, January 14, 2026: Taj Surajkund Resort & Spa, Delhi NCR has commissioned a 50 kWp solar power plant, marking a key sustainability milestone for the property and reinforcing its commitment to responsible hospitality under IHCL’s Paathya framework.

The newly installed solar plant is expected to generate around 73,000 kWh of green energy annually and approximately 18.25 lakh kWh of renewable energy over its lifetime. The initiative is aimed at strengthening the resort’s energy resilience, improving long-term efficiency, and reducing its overall environmental footprint through measurable outcomes.

Commenting on the development, Mr. Ramneet Singh, Hotel Manager, Taj Surajkund Resort & Spa, Delhi NCR, said, “Sustainability is central to our operating philosophy and the guest experience we create at Taj Surajkund. The commissioning of our 50 kWp solar power plant is a meaningful step towards reducing our carbon footprint while strengthening long term energy efficiency. Aligned with IHCL’s Paathya framework, we remain committed to implementing initiatives that are thoughtful, measurable and future ready, while continuing to deliver the intuitive service and warmth that define Taj.”

Beyond renewable energy adoption, the resort has implemented a range of sustainability measures across water management, waste reduction and green mobility. Its sewage and effluent treatment plants together support a water treatment capacity of 350 KLD, with treated water reused for cooling towers and landscape irrigation. An in-house water bottling facility produces up to 1,000 bottles of 500 ml each, reducing dependence on externally sourced packaged drinking water.

The property has also installed four rainwater harvesting recharge pits to support groundwater replenishment and operates three electric vehicle (EV) charging points to encourage cleaner transportation. In line with circular economy principles, the resort runs an organic waste composter with a capacity of 250 kg, converting food waste into manure for use in horticulture. Additionally, the property has eliminated the use of R22 refrigerants across all refrigeration units, aligning with responsible refrigerant management practices.

These initiatives reflect Taj Surajkund Resort & Spa, Delhi NCR’s continued efforts to integrate sustainability into everyday operations while enhancing efficiency and long-term value creation. Guided by IHCL’s Paathya ESG framework, the resort continues to focus on measurable progress toward a cleaner and more responsible future.
