Pune, January 23, 2026: Suzlon Group, India’s leading renewable energy solutions provider, has been ranked among the top 10 companies globally in the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations 2026 list released by Corporate Knights. The announcement was made at the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos. Suzlon is the only Indian company to feature in the top 10 of the 2026 ranking.
Suzlon’s inclusion reflects its sustained focus on embedding sustainability across its value chain, spanning manufacturing, supply chain, and operations, supported by disciplined execution of its ESG roadmap. The company has achieved several sustainability milestones ahead of stated targets.
The Global 100 ranking assesses over 8,000 publicly listed companies with revenues exceeding USD 1 billion, evaluating performance across sustainable investments, sustainable revenues, and growth momentum. The 2026 methodology places heightened emphasis on the pace and scale of sustainable revenue growth, underscoring the urgency of the global energy and climate transition.
At the product level, Suzlon’s S144 wind turbine has emerged as India’s lowest carbon footprint wind turbine, with lifecycle emissions of 6.17 g CO₂ per kWh of electricity generated. This performance has been achieved through integrated sustainability measures including optimized design, efficient resource use in manufacturing, local sourcing, use of green steel, and renewable energy adoption.
Mr. Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman, Suzlon Group, said, “Being the only Wind Energy OEM in the top 10 of this list is a testament to our commitment to meeting highest global sustainability standards. We have committed to achieve Net Zero by 2040; Zero Waste to Landfill by 2028 and Water Neutrality by 2030. Our sustainability goals continue to be a consistent growth driver as we advance our vision of creating a leading and global full stack green energy solutions company.”
Mr. Toby Heaps, CEO, Corporate Knights, added, “We are inspired by Suzlon’s success in making wind energy a reliable and cost-effective solution for India and the world. Nearly doubling its clean energy revenues in recent years, Suzlon shows how a family-founded business with vision can change the world while rewarding shareholders.”
Suzlon continues to advance sustainability initiatives across operations. The company was the first Indian energy firm to join the Climate Group’s RE100 initiative, committing to 100% renewable energy across manufacturing facilities by 2030, and has also joined EV100 to support vehicle electrification by 2035. During FY 2024–25, Suzlon reported an 88.51% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emission intensity, achieved 90.14% zero waste to landfill, and reduced energy, water, and waste intensity year-on-year.
The recognition reinforces Suzlon’s position as a global leader in sustainability-driven renewable energy solutions.
