Gurugram, May 1, 2025: Samsung India has announced the fourth edition of its national innovation competition, Solve for Tomorrow 2025, inviting students aged 14 to 22 to develop technology-driven solutions for pressing social issues. The programme offers a total of over INR 1 crore in grants and spans six months, with applications open from April 29 to June 30, 2025.

Participants can apply individually or in teams, with this year’s themes including AI for a Safer, Smarter, and Inclusive Bharat; Future of Health, Hygiene, and Well-being in India; Social Change through Sports and Tech for Education and Better Futures; and Environmental Sustainability via Technology.

The top four winning teams will receive a combined grant of INR 1 crore for incubation support. Additionally, the top 20 teams will be awarded INR 20 lakh, and the top 40 will receive INR 8 lakh, along with Samsung devices. The programme will also include over 82,000 hours of training in design thinking, prototyping, go-to-market strategies, and business planning.

“Solve for Tomorrow is going to be even bigger and more inclusive this year,” said JB Park, President & CEO, Samsung Southwest Asia. “We are reaching more cities, engaging students from more schools and colleges, and creating avenues for them to innovate. Solve for Tomorrow stands as a testament to our unwavering commitment to the Government of India’s pioneering #DigitalIndia initiative.”

Participants will go through several stages, including video pitches, mentorship from Samsung and IIT Delhi experts, curated learning visits to Samsung R&D centres, and a residential bootcamp to refine their ideas. The top five teams from each theme will be selected for the grand finale.

Prof Rangan Banerjee, Director of IIT Delhi, said the institute is “excited about fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and real-world problem solving among youth,” adding that the collaboration “enables socially conscious innovation and contributes to Viksit Bharat.”

Shombi Sharp, United Nations Resident Coordinator in India, noted that “India is uniquely positioned to lead with ideas that address local challenges and inspire global change,” adding that the UN “is proud to support such collaborations, especially with the private sector, that uplift youth leadership, innovation, and action.”

Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), said: “Young people hold the key to solving today's most urgent global challenges. Initiatives like Solve for Tomorrow 2025 empower them to turn their ideas into reality using technology.”

The programme was inaugurated at IIT Delhi in the presence of officials from the Government of India, including Dr. Sapna Poti (Office of Principal Scientific Adviser), Shardul Rao (Department of Science & Technology), and P. S. Madanagopal (MeitY Startup Hub).

Originally launched in the US in 2010, Solve for Tomorrow is now active in 68 countries and has engaged more than 3 million young people worldwide.
