MSF, Mangalayatan University Launch Allied Healthcare Diploma Programme

New Delhi, August 13, 2026: The Monica Sarin Foundation (MSF) has partnered with Mangalayatan University, Aligarh, to launch an Advanced Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (ADMLT), aimed at expanding access to allied healthcare education and industry-oriented skills.

The programme has been introduced amid growing demand for Allied Healthcare Professionals (AHPs) in India. The foundation, citing estimates by the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) and the World Health Organization (WHO), said the country faces a shortage of more than 8 million AHPs and nurses. The Union Budget 2026-27 has also outlined plans to expand the AHP workforce over the next five years.

Under the collaboration, MSF will serve as the Vocational Training Partner (VTP), with classes for the ADMLT programme conducted at its premises. Mangalayatan University will oversee the curriculum, academic coordination and assessments.

The first session commenced in July 2026. The programme combines classroom instruction with laboratory training and industry-oriented internships at hospitals and laboratories. MSF will also facilitate placement drives to connect students with opportunities at hospitals and diagnostic centres.

As part of the initiative, MSF is offering 10 seats free of cost to selected candidates from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The programme is also intended to improve access to healthcare careers for young women and first-generation learners who may face barriers to higher education and formal employment.

Students will receive practical exposure alongside their academic training, with the programme designed to provide recognised qualifications and hands-on experience in medical laboratory technology. The initiative also forms part of MSF’s broader goal of skilling 50,000 students by 2030 within Delhi-NCR.

Anita Rawat, a student enrolled in the programme, said, “Being able to pursue a professional training in healthcare is an important opportunity for me. Through this program, I hope to gain the skill, practical knowledge and confidence needed to build a stable career in medical laboratory technology and support my family.”

The collaboration is aimed at strengthening vocational pathways into allied healthcare while creating opportunities for youth and women to pursue employment in hospitals, laboratories and related healthcare settings.
