Mathura, January 21, 2025: PepsiCo India, in partnership with Smile Foundation, has introduced the ‘Pink Smile’ initiative to combat anaemia and malnutrition in underserved communities of Mathura. Focused on healthcare accessibility, the project has already reached 4,200 beneficiaries, including women, adolescents, and children, in its initial phase. The initiative aims to positively impact over 40,000 individuals across 10 villages in Chhata Tehsil, Mathura.
The launch event was attended by Mrs. Buddhi Mishra, District Program Officer, Mathura, as the chief guest, alongside dignitaries such as Mr. Sachin Sharma, Medical Officer In-charge of the Chatta block, and Mr. Naresh Kumar, Development Officer of the Chatta block. Highlighting the significance of the program, Mrs. Mishra stated, “The ‘Pink Smile’ project is a commendable step towards improving health and raising awareness in our communities. By working together, we can ensure timely interventions and develop sustainable solutions to eradicate malnutrition and anaemia.”
Program Highlights:
- Mobile Medical Units (MMU): Providing curative, preventive, and promotive healthcare services.
- Anaemia Screening Camps: Conducted fortnightly to identify and address early cases of anaemia and malnutrition.
- Nutrition Education and Support: Distribution of low-cost, high-nutrition recipes and essential nutritional supplies.
- Kitchen Gardens: Promoting sustainable household nutrition practices.
- Training of Frontline Workers: Enhancing awareness and skills to address local health challenges.

Santanu Mishra, Co-founder of Smile Foundation, remarked, “Through our collaboration with PepsiCo India, we are bridging gaps in healthcare access and awareness. The Mobile Medical Unit will significantly complement government efforts in eradicating anaemia and malnutrition in rural India.”
The initiative has already screened 478 individuals for anaemia and 214 children for malnutrition, with essential nutritional support provided to 125 children.
